It is with heavy hearts we announce that Slaven Krljić has passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while vacationing in Honduras on Friday January 9, 2015 at the age of 51.  Survived by his loving wife Katarina of 29 years; two daughters Gorana and Jana of Kelowna; brother Bojan (Sanja) of the Netherlands; nephews Rino and Nik; aunt Boba, cousins Bruneta, Evica, Kasandra and Goran of Croatia and Sweden, with their families; two brothers-in-law Ivica (Christine) Ilic of Germany and their children Till and Nele, Tomislav (Danijela) Ilic of the Netherlands and their sons Tiny and Fillip; sister-in-law Janja (Djino) Delic of Croatia; as well as countless friends here in Kelowna, back home in Croatia and Bosnia, and also throughout the world.  We would like to extend a special thank you to all the friends that were in Honduras for their help during this difficult time. 

 

Slaven was a devoted dad and husband, passionate about travelling and exploring the world with his family, friends, and furry companion Bruno.  Slaven was the proud founder of Digital Generation and was very dedicated to his businesses and his associates. His loving smile, lively attitude, and carefree spirit will forever be missed by his family and friends.

 

A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, January 18th at 7:00 pm and a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 19th at 1:00 pm, both at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.  Interment to follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Cayos Cochinos Foundation in Honduras, in lieu of flowers.  If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

    Covjek samo zanijemi na vijesti o tako nepravednim i iznenadnim odlascima dragih ljudi i prijatelja.
    Znajte da potpuno susjecamo sa vama.
    Vjerujte da ce Slaven uvijek biti uz vas, on ce vec naci nacina kako.
    Slaven je u meni i mnogima drugima ostavio jedan dubok trag koji ce trajati sve dok se opet negdje svi skupa ne sretnemo. Budite jake i ponosne na njega kao sto ste uvijek bile.

    Tuzna sam i sokirana tragedijom koja vas je zadesila.Ne mogu zamisliti da ga vise nema medju nama,a uvijek je biotu,od rane mladosti,uvijek nasmijan i spreman pomoci svima.Bio je tu, u nasem komsiluku,bio je sin nasih prijatelja i nas prijatelj.Bio je i ostao nas Slaven,nas dobri i voljeni Slaven a i ti zajedno s njim.Bili ste divan par,lijepi, veseli i zaljubljeni

    I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of you. I was the just the friend to the Bojan growing up and that is how I knew Slaven. All my memories of the Slaven were that he was nice decent man. Makes me sad news that his life is cut short. There is nothing that anyone can say that will fill that sudden void in your lifes, but I hope that you can find some solace knowing that Slaven was good man to many people.

    Kati djeci Bojanu njegovoj obitelji isvima iz vase obitelji Ruzica sa Hrvojom i djecom salje vam veliki zagrljaj saosjecanja i potpore u vasem velikom bolu.Ne znam sto Bog ima uplanu mi na kraju moramo podnositi sto on odredi .Moram na kraju spomenuti i mog brata koji ostaje bez jos jednog dragog prijatelja .Sa vama smo.

    Draga Katarina,Gorana I Jana, duboko smo potreseni tuznom vijescu da Slaven vise nije sa vama,ipak znamo da ce ostati u vasim srcima I u srcima svih nas koji smo ga poznavali po bilo kom osnovu, jer je zaista bio I ostao divna osoba.Iako smo tako daleko jedni od drugih, znajte da u ovim teskim trenucima suosjecamo sa vama I mislimo na vas. Iskreno saucesce ozaloscenoj familiji I prijateljima a Slavanu pokoj vjecni.

    U trenutku kad odlaze naši voljeni, znamo točnu mjeru blagoslova koju su nam ostavili: ljudi koji nas tješe, koje i mi moramo tješiti, sjećanja koja istovremeno iz nas istiskuju suze i smijeh. Ljubavna bol, teška, široka, duboka, ali nikada prazna…

    I have known Slaven since 1998 first from a business relationship and then as a friend. The world has lost one of the most sincere men God ever created. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone for any reason. He was gentle, loving, and a true family man. Marlene and I have said a special prayer for Slaven, Katarina, and girls. You will be missed. May you find more adventure in Gods hands.

    Dear Katarina, Gorana and Jana, please accept our deepest condolences, it was a horrible tragedy and Mike and I often talk about Slaven and your family and how hard it must be. Mike was at the funeral and I had to work so I saw it here in the video. Please feel free to drop by our house in Penticton anytime in the summer, when you are free. Louise(Slavica) and Mike Krekic.
