I had the honor of meeting sasha and his family and few years back. He autographed a flames ball cap . That his brother gave to me for Christmas.
my favorite memory of him was when he played for the flames and climbed the glass to go after a spectator from the bench. He was a brave man fighting cancer. Doing what he could to live strong for his children. My heart broke hearing of his passing. I wish I was half the man he was. It was an honor meeting go you. May God bless your family and may their memories of you keep them living stronger.
My heart is with you all

It’s terrible to hear about the loss of Sasha and I express my sincere sympathy to the Lakovic Family. I know this must be a very difficult and demanding time for you all. So on behalf of the Morrow Family please accept our heartfelt condolences and we hope that in a small way, everyone’s condolences help your family through these trying times. To Sash it was always fun an interesting playing minor and junior hockey with you. I am still laughing about the time your dad and my dad tried to coach our brothers in minor baseball.
Ernie, Cathy, Grant, Bryon, Keith and our families
Our condolences go out to the Lakovic family and Sofija and her family for the loss of Sasha. He will be missed and our hearts are with you all.
So sorry to hear of the loss of Sasha, loved watching him in Albany NY when he played for the River Rats. One game in particular was when Sasha was fighting and got a penalty and jumped over the penalty box to get the other player then was ejected and he went in the back and went to the other teams bench and a full fight with all the players erupted…It was great….
He will be missed…Sasha rest in peace!
So very sorry for your loss my heart is broken today ..
Our deepest condolences to all Lakovic family. Our hearts and prayers are with you in this difficult time of your loss. Rest in peace our dear Sasha. You will be missed.
I am so sorry to hear of Sasha’s passing. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and children.. I knew Sasha when he played for the Albany River Rats in New York.. He was always kind, fun and thoughtful .. one thing he taught me is not to be miserable when those around you are difficult, to always choose happiness.. ♡ I will always remember his smile and his care free attittude, when off the ice of course. He was a great person. https://youtu.be/xXjoPHkvNOc
Sasha’s lost really hit me hard,i left B.C in
2007,and little did i know about his death until a few days ago and i am really sorry
Sasha… from time to time I remember you. We trained together at Wing Chun, even though I was a prideful and small young man, despite your imposing nature you were the most nurturing and caring of teachers. You always knew how to encourage others, and get the best of out them. I always told people I knew you were a big ol teddy bear because of your big heart. I sincerely pray that you are in a good place and the family you had to leave behind will find whatever they need. With eternal love and gratitude.
Still always think of you Sasha rip you were a legend in hockey and many other avenues rest well my friend
