We Remember

GRADY, Myles Daniel Jason

April 14, 1968 — February 5, 2019

Many are mourning the tragic, sudden loss of a dear brother and exceptionally good friend. Myles was lost to us much too soon. Born in Fort St. John, BC to beloved parents Emma and Daniel Grady, Myles spent most of his life growing up in Kelowna, making lifelong friends along the way.

He lived a life of deep-rooted friendships. He is the center of many great stories, and now we’ll hold the memories of those events ever so close. Childhood friend, classmate, 4×4 adventure leader, business partner, bush party expert, deep conversationalist, hard worker, collector, car nut, genuine hugger, loved by all. He is a brother and uncle to many, not by blood but by soul.

Myles is predeceased by his parents and left behind to mourn is his cat Bubbles; sisters, Irmgard Lux (also friend and neighbour of over 20 years) and Emmy (Joel) Mills; niece Stephanie (Luke) Mills-Clarke, children Rowan and Sawyer; nephew Tyler (Karla) Mills, children Jaxon and Lyla; his second family, Craig and Nancy Zinger-Harris, children Kayleigh and Kolby.

Dear Myles, we loved you well and will miss you always. Rest assured, Bubbles will be well loved and cared for next door with your sister.

A service will be held Saturday, February 16th at 4:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.

    My sincere condolences to Myles’ family. I will always remember my childhood friend, Myles, as a warm, caring and gentle soul who could light up a room with his infectious smile. We had a lot of fun as kids – sleepovers, Friday night cruising, hanging at Gyro beach and especially the infamous bush parties at Knox Mountain. I hope you are at peace my friend. One day, our paths with meet again…

    I send my deepest sympathy to Myles family and friends , which truly if you were a friend of Myles you were just like family. Myles always had a warm smile and hug waiting for me whenever I could make it back to Kelowna and always made me feel welcome. . He was always down to earth and genuine and I will miss seeing him, hearing his laugh and being in his presence. His life was cut way to short and I know many will be mourning this tragic loss yet I hope everyone can also celebrate and cherish his beautiful life and the impact he had on us all. Rest In Peace Myles. You will always be loved and remembered.

    Sorry for your loss Irma. It was always a treat when I got to speak to Myles. He was always so friendly, interesting and very
    approachable whenever we engaged in conversation. I will miss having a friend like Myles to chat with and realize everything is ok. RIP Friend.

    My name is James, and I was a neighbor of Myles for 11 years and we became good friends. One day in the summer there was a car accident on the corner of Richmond street and Lawrance Avenue just as he was coming home for his break driving his garbage truck. We both went down to the accident to see what happened just as three guys jumped out of the one car and ran off in different directions. One was heading up Richmond to Kelglen. Myles immediately jumped into the garbage truck, put it in reverse and continued in reverse up Richmond to Kelglen, turned the tuck around in the intersection and headed up Kelglen to Burtch where he caught up with the one guy and brought him back to the police who were now at the scene of the accident. The guy held his hands to be arrested by the police officer. There’s not too many guys that can drive a 10 ton Super Dave garbage truck backwards and catch a car thief and bring him back to the scene of the accident. I will miss Myles a lot as he was a very good neighborly friend and he always would help me a lot around the house after my wife had passed away.
