KARYLCHUK, Laura

Laura passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the age of 79 – one week short of her 80th birthday. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike, of 61 years, her daughters Donna (Les) Johnson and Darra (Kurt) Bullach both of Kelowna, BC, grandchildren Michael Johnson and Melanie (Jamie) Sands, great grandchildren Jacob Johnson, Penny Sands and Baby Sands (soon to arrive). Also, her sisters Iris (Dennis) Blower and Mary Rokitsky and nieces and nephews all of Edmonton, AB and special friends Ed and Flo Sosnowski of Myrnam, AB. She was predeceased by her parents Stephan and Lena Rokitsky and her brother Tony Rokitsky.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC with Fr. Chad Pawlyshyn officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of STS. Peter and Paul, 1935 Barlee Road, Kelowna, BC V1Y 4S3.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I had not see your mom for years and then about six years ago she came to my dad’s celebration of life. My mom and I were truly touched that she was there to offer her condolences to our family. I told her that of all the people there she was the one I will always remember and she made me cry. My thoughts and prayers are with during this tough time.
