We Remember
GAGNON, Aime
September 1, 1922 — October 24, 2020
Aime Gagnon passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord, October 24, 2020 at the age of 98.
Born September 1, 1922 in La Flèche, SK and lived in Kelowna, BC since 1967, Amie’s memory is carried on by his loving wife of 73 years, Rose, and his 8 surviving children: daughters Marlys (Grant Wolfe), Gloria (Glen Weisbach), Rosanne (Todd Ryder), & Paulette (Richard Munro); and sons Hubert (Darlene), Ray (Donna), Henry (Sue) & Daniel (Patsi). He had 37 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his two of his 10 children: Glenda (Brian McKinnon) & Paul (Misty).
After retiring as a lifelong auto body mechanic, Aime & Rose spent 14 years doing missionary work in several countries. Aime is best known for his steadfast honour, integrity, and love for his family. He spent his last years helping his kids with many projects and loved his years on the farm. He was productive on the farm, making equipment, building outbuildings, and repairing fences, up to the last few months of his life. He even hand-crafted his own beautiful casket, completely finishing the inside with satin upholstering. He played bridge and canasta right up to his 98th birthday and still shared life lessons and advice to any family member as it was needed.
Due to COVID-19 a graveside service will be held for immediate family only. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos, or share a memory please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
My condolences and love to Rose and the family at this time of loss.
Our hearts go out to each and everyone of Aime’s family.. We as the Bjur group were so lucky to have the Gagnon Group in our lives as young families moving to Kelowna and being good childhood friends.. Our families did a lot together and those early years will always be greatly cherished. (Bet Mom has already got Aime up dancing)
Dear Daniel, Patsi, & family, We are so sorry to here of your loss, Daniel. Please know that we are thinking of you and your family during this very sad time.
