We Remember
PROCTOR, William “Bill”
—
On January 20, 2021, William “Bill” Proctor passed away suddenly at the age of 71. His loving wife of 33 years, Karen, was by his side at the end. He is survived by his son Darin (May) and two beautiful granddaughters, Mint and Melanie. He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Deborah Young (Mike) and their two daughters, Madison and Ainsley, as well as his brother-in-law Bryan Maguire (Kathy).
Bill was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces primarily stationed in Germany. Upon returning to Canada he settled in Calgary, Alberta where he eventually met his soulmate Karen. After several moves across Canada, Bill and Karen relocated to Kelowna, BC. The joys in his life were travelling, enjoying good food and wine, or a good glass of scotch. He loved spending time outdoors whether that was out on the golf course, going for a hike, cycling, or Kayaking.
Karen and Darin would like to thank the team of nurses and doctors at Kelowna General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. A special thanks goes out to his ICU Nurse Kim and Dr. Wierstra.
There are no plans for a celebration or service at this time. We kindly ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, bccancerfoundation.com.
