We Remember
SULZ, Ronald
June 4, 1941 — December 7, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce Heaven has received another cowboy with the sudden, unexpected passing, at home, of Ron on December 7, 2021. He was born June 4, 1941, in Medicine Hat, AB. Fond memories of growing up included playing for the Medicine Hat Tigers hockey team. Hockey, his passion, took him onwards to Peace River, AB, and ultimately Yellowknife, NWT, where he played hockey at the first Canada Winter Games in 1967. The stories of Senior and Old Timer Hockey in Yellowknife were unending. After moving to Kelowna, working with horses and helping neighbors took him into his happy place. All those who knew him knew that he loved to talk and that they would need an hour or two to visit. The Sulz heritage was very dear to Ron, thus there were many ‘old time’ conversations during cherished visits with family.
Ron is survived by his wife, Clara; son Darcy (Shelley); grandsons Karl and Daley; brother Barry (Diane) and family; sister-in-law Bette; nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family members. He was predeceased by father Emil and mother Martha; infant brother Donald, brother Harold and sister Joyce (Alan).
Heartfelt thanks to all the first responders for their efforts, unending support, and compassion.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. No flowers by request, and in lieu, donations to JoeAnna’s House, or charity of your choice.

I was saddened to read about the passing of Ron. I enjoyed reading his obituary and all the beautiful memories that people expressed in their condolences. He seemed like such a respected, kind and athletic soul – I wish I could have met him and would have loved to see him play hockey.

I wish to express my deepest condolences to Clara and the rest of the family for the loss of a great man and friend. I played hockey with Ron for approximately 12 years (Yellowknife Gold Dusters). I will cherish those memories.

Condolences to Clara and family for sudden loss of one great guy. He was a natural team leader on and
off the ice, a friend to everyone, a warm and outgoing personality, wonderful sense of humour.
Clara and family, condolences on the sudden passing of Ron, many memories of Yellowknife days, living in Northland, when Ron was our landlord, hockey parties and reunions in Kelowna. He cut a wide swath and had many friends.
Ron will be passing the puck now in a place where His Game will be played the right way ! Great man and Team Mate for many years in Yellowknife. He will be greatly missed !

Clara we were so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing.. Our condolences to you, Darcy, and his family. You will miss him greatly. We fondly remember our interactions with him in Yellowknife…….. a northern for sure!! Take care of each other and share your memories often.
