We Remember
DORNAN, Daniel Alan
September 2, 1980 — January 15, 2022
Dan Dornan had big plans. A father of twin girls with triplets on the way, Dan and his wife, Victoria, were gearing up to buy a house in Lake Country, BC. They had recently moved to the area, and Dan had just set up his own contracting business. The future was very bright – and very full. But, on the morning of January 15, 2022, Dan was suddenly taken from us in a car accident on his way to work. He was 41, and will be missed immensely.
Raised in False Creek, East Vancouver and Nelson, BC, Dan was whip-smart with a dry sense of humour and a lot of opinions. As a kid, he loved BMX biking and outdoor adventuring – and he flat-out refused to take a photo without pulling a funny face. He could pick up anything quickly. After all, the way he learned how to ride a bike was by being hustled onto the seat and launched down a hill by his helpful big brother, Sean.
Through the years, Dan had many jobs, from magazine distributor to coffee roaster, before finding a passion for home renovation and construction. He liked working with his hands – building things and solving problems. In his downtime, he enjoyed off-roading, camping with friends, and working on his Tacoma. When Dan met Victoria in 2009 he fell hard, and the two of them got married in Toronto, ON in 2014. A few years later, they set off on an epic adventure, RV-ing from Vancouver to Ottawa and down to New Orleans. His next adventure was fatherhood, Dan and Vic welcomed identical twins Cassidy and Allison in 2018 – and he absolutely relished it. He doted on the girls and loved to teach them how things work.
In addition to Victoria, Cassidy, Allison and soon-to-be-born triplets, Dan leaves behind his mother, Laura; his dad, Pat (Barb); his siblings, Sean (Kelly) and Chelsea (Nate); his nieces, Maya and Zoe; his much-loved dogs, Bowser and Koopa; and many other close friends and family. The loss of Dan has created a huge, unfillable void in many lives.

Dear Victoria and Dan’s family. Please accept my deepest condolences!
it is very hard to go through this journey. without feeling how unfair this is.
Unfortunately, we can’t change anything. All we can do is to try to heal from this deep mental strike on our souls to the best of our ability, and mostly by ourselves.
I hope Dan’s presence always stays around you and helps you move forward with your life, success, and happiness.
May he rest in peace,
Guler Elbi
John and I are so sorry for your loss. We share your sorrow at the loss of our nephew.
I have known Daniel my whole life, he was a close friend for many years. This has been a horrible loss for our community of kids he grew up with, and I can’t imagine what everyone is going through right now. I’m so sad and send my condolences to his family and friends.
My cousin Daniel taught me how to people-watch when I was 15, and I have never stopped watching since.
