Donna, I remember how excited Dan was that he was starting to date you. He expressed dismay that such a wonderful lady might be his wife some day. Through the years Dan and I would cross paths and exchange a few thoughts. He always had a wonderful sense of humor that served him well to disarm the ocassional unpleasant exchanges that might occur. God loves Dan and His kingdom is awaiting Dan’s presence.
Pr. Daniel Jackson was my theology and church history teacher at Spicer Memorial College, Pune, India. I was his reader for more than two years. I spent half of the day in all the days of the week at his house. I am well associated with his wife and all their children. I met him in Washington D. C., while he came to preach at Pr. Donald Watts’ wife funeral service. We shared many sweet memories we have had at Spicer. We miss you Don. Let Donna and all his family members be comforted. My deepest condolences. Vijayan..
Pastor was a great friend of mine. I always admired him for his integrity and friendliness he share will all his colleagues and friends. Pastor Jackson was responsible for my being a pastor in British Columbia when he was president and I cherish the memories of him that we shared. He will be greatly missed. Donna, Lara and all the other relatives stay strong in the Lord and God bless
Dan, you were a breath of fresh air, wherever you were.
Rest, now, my brother!
Untill Jesus calls your name.
My sincerest condolences to the families. May God Strengthen you continually. You are in thought and prayers.
My heartfelt condolences to all the family members, thoughts and prayers are with you all
God is sad when someone die. and longs to change His ” love ones’ in the twinkling into immortality. Hold on to His faithful promises, tried and proven..
One day soon, we shall meet again. And I can hear elder Jackson busting into a song again, singing the hallelujah chorus with the Saints. I plan to be there. Until then, good night, see you in the morning.
“I recall how much time you two spent together. You were inseparable. May all your wonderful memories comfort you Danna and the family during this heartbreaking time.” He was a man of God defending the place of the women in ministry. He forth for the truth and I was so proud of him, because he was Canadian, he was a good speaker and always have a word of encouragement. He sacrifices himself in the ministry. His passion for Christ encourage me to stay in the ministry, no matter what. He was a true minister. May his soul Rest In Peace. And we shall see him soon at the second coming of Jesus-Christ.
Dan was always a man of integrity. His sense of humour was always appreciated by those around him. The first time I heard him sing was when he was only 19……I will miss that voice. Heartfelt condolences to Donna and his family.
In 46 years of denominational service, I’ve never worked for a better boss than Dan Jackson. More than that, I truly loved Dan as a great friend. When Gayle was diagnosed with terminal cancer while in the hospital in Dallas, Dan drove from meetings he was attending in Houston to visit. That’s about a 10-hour round trip just to make a pastoral visit. When Gayle died, Dan and Donna were lovingly supportive. Most of the NAD leadership team attended the funeral. Such a loving gesture!
Dan and Donna represented Jesus in my every contact with them. Their support for me and for Faith for Today were key reasons for our success. I can never repay them.
When I was thinking about marrying Pam, I called Dan since he had known her longer than I had. His support meant the world to me.
I will miss Dan’s sense of humor, encyclopedic knowledge of song lyrics, uninhibited laughter, and boundless love for Jesus. I will miss my friend!
Donna, I’ve walked the road you are on now. While no two losses are the same, there are certainly similarities. Please call me if you need me.
Until the Resurrection!
Mike Tucker, Speaker Emeritus, Faith for Today (And Friend of Dan Jackson)
We are deeply saddened to learn of Pastor Dan’s death. Dan was a pastor in Alberta when we arrived back in the mid 70’s and we enjoyed our association together at that time. In the 1990’s we were privileged to have the Jacksons join our Alberta team again when he came to pastor the church at College Heights. Both Dan and Donna were a great blessing to the church and college family during those years. Wherever he has served he has demonstrated excellence in leadership and has the respect of the people throughout the constituency. We look forward to that glorious day when we will be re-united with Dan to share life in Christ’s kingdom.
Donna and family, We are so sorry to hear of Dan’s recent death. Memories of 3 years of quartet, choir,Dorian Singers, and growing together as 15-18 year old boys in the dorm was a wonderful time. Dan showed us the high path to take, and his example and love were valued by us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and for you Donna.
Donna, how I would love to throw my arms around you and give you a big hug! This is more than I can imagine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. When I think of the years that we have known each other, we go back . . . way back to the last century! Our days at CUC were so memorable. Danny was always so much fun to be around. He had an amazing sense of humor. Having the honor t0 stand up in your wedding was a highlight as well. You both were so mission-minded and made such a great team! An old Irish headstone says: “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves memories no one can steal.” Till that resurrection morning, my friend, rest in peace.
Uncle Dan Jackson was a faithful man of God who was always so gracious and kind to my family and I. He has personally stood in the gap and advocated for me before and for that i am eternally grateful. I am encouraged because I know he rests in the Lord awaitig that great day. He is at perfect peace and I know his soul is secure. I send my condolences and prayers to the family during this hard time. Be encouraged that this is not the end.
Love always, Jameel Ali
Dan Jackson.
Whenever I hear that name, I can’t help but smile. A true man of God, a heart of gold and a smile that could light up any room. He often took time out of his busy schedule to check up on me, encourage me and congratulate me through my successes. I find myself reflecting on his unwavering commitment to the systemically excluded, his dedication to the Church and his love for people. As a church family, we eagerly await that great day and cling to the hope we have in Jesus – so, while he rests, I’m reminded that this is not the end. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the family – you’re not alone.
Love always,
Renee Ali.
Though I did not know elder Jackson personally, he was a brother in Christ. I want to extend my sincere sympathy to the entire family during this challenging time. Be encouraged! May the blessed hope we have in the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, bring comfort, peace, and hope in your heart. Jesus is coming again! Blessings.
Dear Donna, and family,
My Dearest friends Pastor Dan and Donna Jackson,
You are my treasured friends and have been so good to me. When you came to Willowdale I sat with you in the first meeting of the board. I sat next to you and our friendship hit off like we had known each other. We have shared many meals together and I have some photos which when I find them will send to you. Sabbath afternoon at Crawford Hall with The Kurtz and yourselves were great times. So many precious and goofy times spent together, photos to prove the times together will follow later. Those times bonded us.and you saw me through things and were very supportive and kind. Last I saw you at the Convention center in Sacramento, you showed me your care. I am going to miss Pastor Dan when I am speaking with you and he won’t be saying that is Geeta. Pastor Jackson, he is resting now. I will miss him. All the words have been said, thoughts shared and things that describe him as God’s precious living Christlike person He was. Calling his name just tears me up, they were my dear dear friends. Tonight I heard Tim Partin and John Lomacang sing.”So if we never meet again this side of heaven…there’s another meeting place in heaven by a beautiful river. Separation comes no more. I will meet you on that beautiful shore”. We have lived oceans apart but the bond of friendship we share will always be there. God be ever so close to you tomorrow precious Donna, Lara, Dena, and Danny Junior and families. Love you and miss not being there in person. We shall behold our Lord and see Pastor Dan and all our loved ones on that Golden morning. God bless.
Dear Donna and Family, Sending our deepest condolences as you lay Danny to rest — for he was always ‘Danny’ to me. A character at CUC whose humor and friendly smile permeated the campus. In more recent years, you and he visited Collegedale church. I needed to say hello, but hesitated, knowing well that the “NAD president” would be fully occupied with greeting others! He reached out in a warm embrace, saying “Cherrr-yl”. Never will I forget that, nor the short visit I had with you, Donna. Such a treasured memory. But, time here is short, and we will be reunited with Jesus soon and Danny will be there right with Him, I’m certain! May God be with you until then…..Love, Cheryl
Our dearest Donna and Family:
We would like to extend our deepest condolences at the passing of Elder Dan Jackson, a great family friend and a true servant of God. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time. The day won’t be long when you will be reunited with him when Jesus comes the second time. Thank God for the blessed hope.
Here are pictures of his last visit to our home in Oshawa in August 2017.
With much love and prayers,
Ulysses and Judith Guarin
Dearest Donna,
Words still fail me with Pastor Dan’s passing and all I’d like to do is give you a hug. He exemplified Servant Leadership to me and I saw a man who actually worked for his wife when he could remain aloof and we, his congregants may not have seen any wrong in that.
I’d miss him but I know soon enough we’d see him on that great gettin up morning.
Rest well Pastor Dan🥹
Dear Donna and family, my heart goes out to you. May you experience God’s comfort as you work through your grief. I’m still struggling to accept the reality that Dan is now at rest. He touched so many lives. I will be forever grateful for his friendship and mentorship. He genuinely cared for people. He always made time for people. I admired him for his courage. I valued his authenticity. I appreciated his sense of humour. He gave his life away in service to others. Thanks for sharing Dan with us. May God grant you peace.
Donna, Lara, Dena, Dan and the rest of the family… We are so saddened by the passing of Dan- Such a huge loss to you and all who knew him! Our thoughts and prayers are with you!! ❤️
Donna and family, my deepest condolences. Dan’s support during my studies at Spicer College and ministry in WA, and Donna’s support in my music ministry will always be close to my heart
