We Remember
WALLACE, Larry
—
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Larry (Slim) Wallace’s sudden passing. Larry was a devoted son, brother, uncle, friend, and leader who will be missed by many. Born in Vancouver to parents Betty and Harold, Larry lived out his adult years in Kelowna, managing ECCO Heating until he retired in late 2021. He was passionate about his work, and even more so, the people who made it a second home.
Those who know Larry, and even those who have only met him, will have without a doubt been privy to his quick wit. In conversation with Larry, there was rarely a sentence exchanged not peppered with laughter. His signature expressions will be known to all who had the good fortune of spending time with him. Larry made sure to live life to the fullest, taking to the open road on his motorbike accompanied by his closest friends in search of sunnier horizons. He was a passionate golfer who carved out time for a sport that brought him joy (along with its fair share of sorrow). But most importantly, he was a man who cared deeply about others and who was always generous with those he loved in a way that was uniquely Larry.
Larry is predeceased by his mother Betty, father Harold, and brother Claude. He will be missed and always remembered by his family Rhya, Lachlan, Kerie, Francis, Kenny, Jennifer, and many cousins; his dear friends who were also family; and many more.
Larry left us far too soon—of that, there can be no doubt. His enigmatic personality will live on in our memories and his stories will be shared for years to come.
A few words written by his Ecco family:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Can’t believe you’re gone,
We sure will miss you.

My condolences for loss of Larry! He often frequented my work as my boss was a good friend of his. He always made us laugh and went above and beyond with his kindness and sense of humour. He impacted my life in a beautiful way despite having brief contact with him. So sad he is gone, but grateful he was once here. My arms are around his friends and family and I’ll be saying a big prayer for you all! May he rest peacefully
Larry or Laib as I liked to call him was a Very Good Man, he was generous with his assistance and his support far beyond the norm. A strong willed, Helpful and determined Friend, you left us much to soon Buddy and you are greatly missed by your many friends and associates.
