We Remember
COURTNEY, Veronica
October 5, 1932 — April 16, 2023
On April 16, 2023, at Lakeview Lodge in West Kelowna, BC, our beloved mother/grandmother and favourite storyteller, Veronica Courtney, passed away. She goes to join her husband, Richard Courtney, and her brothers, Leo and Donald. We, who are left here to mourn the loss, include: her son Don, daughter-in-law Heather, and grandchildren Alejandro & Susie; as well as her son Paul, daughter-in-law, Virgina Weiler, and grandchildren Leo & Magda. Veronica was a loving wife, mother, and grandma. She immigrated to Canada in 1962, and she worked as a Professional Customs Broker and was CEO of Courtney Agencies Ltd. She was tough, funny, independent, and gregarious; we loved her dearly. A highlight she oft told us about was how she was there when The Beatles played at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK, what an experience!
Friends and family are invited to share more stories and gather for Veronica’s Wake, to be held on SATURDAY, MAY 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at the FAMILY HOME (2832 Thacker Dr, West Kelowna, BC). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC’s Waiting Children.
If you wish to send a condolence, post photos, or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.

We’re all so sorry for your loss. May you and your family be spared further sorrow.
Paul and Don, so sorry to hear of your Mum’s passing. I have great memories chatting with Ronnie back in the day when I was a runner for Milne & Craighead and would go down to Customs in the Federal Building where Courtney’s office was in New Westminster. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and all of your family.
Dear Paul and Virginia,
