We Remember
BURBINE, Heather Frances
January 1, 1964 — May 17, 2023
Heather passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on May 17, 2023, in Kelowna, BC. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Emmerson; son Ben Burbine; daughter Kim (Kevin) Achter and their two children McKenna and Addalyn; her mother Maureen Armes; and brother Dave (Cathy) Armes. She was sadly predeceased by her father Peter Armes, in 2011.
Heather moved to Kelowna after meeting her husband, Emmerson in 1988, while visiting her family on a trip from Grandforks. Soon after, she started working at the London Drugs Photo Lab where she stayed for 35 years building countless relationships with returning customers. Her hard work and dedication awarded her to become the Photolab manager and she received many accolades over the years. On the side, Heather enjoyed photography, with her children and grandchildren being her largest subjects as you will see displayed around the London Drugs photo department. She also found joy in camping, road trips, reading, shopping, quilting, spending time with family and friends, she especially loved to be involved in her grand-daughters lives, and all of their extra curricular activities.
Heather was always looking forward to friend or family dinners, especially if they included roast beef with Yorkshire puddings or seafood. She adored everything Disney; Disney Land or Disney stores. Her extensive Disney collection included Disney trinkets, Disney stuffies, Disney bags, Disney sweaters, and Disney themed rooms. She took great passion in her flower and vegetable gardens, this is where her management skills came in handy with her husband. Friends and family would describe her as selfless, hard-working, loving, persistent, endearing, affectionate, and passionate.
Heather will be missed by the many lives that she touched.
There will be a gathering in the near future. The date, time, and location will be announced. Contact the family for more information.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made in Heather’s memory to the BC Cancer – Kelowna (Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre).
