It is with immensely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of my sister, Shannon “Shaninski” Taylor, on January 12th, 2024 in Kelowna General Hospital after a hard but courageous battle with Liver Disease.
Shannon was a beautiful, tough, kind and generous soul that touched so many lives and to say she will be greatly missed is a huge understatement.
Shannon’s greatest love in her life was her beautiful 17-year-old son, Tristan Taylor, who she loved more than words could ever express. Leaving behind her boy was never something she could have ever imagined at the young age of 52, especially during his graduation year. Although she is unable to be with him, she was so proud of the amazing young man that he has become, and she will continue to be in his heart and by his side every day for forever.
Shannon was predeceased by her parents Bill and Judy Taylor of Transcona, Manitoba; as well as her brother Darren Taylor, who passed at 17 in 1983 in West Kelowna. Shannon is survived by her sister Lori Taylor; niece Carlee Lomax; and nephews Brayden and Brody Lomax of Kelowna, BC, who will miss her deeply. She was truly the best Auntie.
Shannon leaves behind many friendships that she cherished very close to her heart, especially her Fab Five best friends and sisters forever, as well as all of their family and her nieces and nephews through them. Shannon was always so proud of her “village” and in her passing would be even more proud.
We remember Shannon for all of the laughs, love, and memories that she gave us all. This is not a Goodbye but a So Long, until we see each other again.

Shannon was an amazing person, full of love, kindness and laughter. She raised an amazing young man in Tristen. Cherish your memories of a great mom and wonderful woman.
Shannon was just a fun loving person to be around who appreciated a good joke and a laugh. She was always willing to help out and deeply loved and supported her son. Words can not express how sad we were to hear of her passing. Our sincere condolences and love are sent to the family during this hard time.
We’re heartbroken to hear about Shannon’s passing. It’s been a few years since we’ve seen each other, but our kids started out as friends at daycare and were then reunited for a few years, playing ball together.
I remember sitting with Shannon at various ball diamonds around the city, cheering on our kids and how Shannon cheered for all the kids, but of course was rightly proud of her talented and sweet son, Tristan.
Incredibly sorry to hear this news. Sending warmest thoughts at this time to family and friend, and of course, Tristan. xo

Shannon was my next door neighbour and I was shocked to find out this devastating news yesterday. She always greeted us with smile and had gave us her homemade cookies. Her kindness and big warm heart will be always remembered and missed. May your family find some comfort and peace in these difficult time.
