We Remember

SERITT, Robert David

April 28, 1965 — August 9, 2024

The family of Robert Seritt is saddened to report the sudden passing of their beloved father, grandfather, son, and brother. Leaving to mourn his loss, his loving daughter, Cassandra Donald (Chris St. Lewis); son, Cory Donald; grandchildren, Taiah St. Lewis, Jasmine St. Lewis and Rylan Donald; parents, Jerry and Lynn Seritt; and brother Heath Seritt (Karen Seritt); as well as many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Wanda Donald.

Robert was a man of many passions and talents. He had a deep love for 4x4s and pitbulls, and the joy he derived from these interests was unmistakable. Whether he was behind the wheel of his beloved off-road vehicle or spending time with his loyal pitbulls, those moments of pure enjoyment were a testament to his spirited personality.

His skills were not just limited to his hobbies. Robert was a formidable arm wrestler, a sport that mirrored his strength and determination. His prowess in arm wrestling was a reflection of his resilience and drive, qualities that also shone through in his professional life. As a backhoe operator working on water and sewer projects, he played a crucial role in his community, using his expertise to build and maintain essential infrastructure.

Despite the trials and tribulations he faced in recent years, including the profound loss of his wife, Robert never lost his zest for life. He was known for being the life of any party, his vibrant energy and infectious laughter bringing people together and lighting up every room he entered.
His role as a loving father and grandfather was a cornerstone of his life. The pride he took in his family was evident to all who knew him. His children and grandchildren were his heart and soul, and it was clear that his love for them was unwavering.

In reflecting on his life, it’s important to acknowledge the struggles he faced, including the depression and difficulties that prevented him from working. Though he battled with these challenges, it’s essential to remember him not just for the hardships, but for the moments of joy, the skills he honed, and the love he shared with his family.

Today, as we remember Robert, let us hold onto the memories that defined him — the roar of his 4×4 engine, the strength of his arm wrestling grip, the loyalty of his pitbulls, and the laughter he brought to gatherings. Let us also honour the resilience he showed, and the love he had for his family. We stand united in our respect for the man he was and the impact he had on those around him. His life, with all its highs and lows, was a testament to his spirit and his capacity for love.

Rest in peace, “Robbie/Rocket”. You will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved you.

The family wishes to thank all the family members & friends who have reached out to us during this difficult time.

A memorial tribute to Rob will be held at a later date. Details to be determined.
