We Remember
OUELLETTE, Lucine Jeanette (née Lawrence)
July 15, 1936 — November 10, 2024
Jeanette passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, in Kelowna, British Columbia. She was born on July 15, 1936, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. After graduating from nursing school, Jeanette moved to Alert Bay, BC, in 1958 to begin her nursing career. There, she met her husband and the love of her life, Paul, who was a member of the RCMP. They married in 1960 in Richmond, BC, where they raised their three children—Dan, Anne, and Ken. Jeanette nursed in several hospitals in Vancouver for many years, including 15 years at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, until she retired at age 51. She and Paul then moved to Oyama, BC, where they bought and ran a hobby farm for 13 wonderful years before moving to West Kelowna to travel and enjoy their golden years.
Jeanette will be remembered for her kindness, never-ending energy and dedication to her family. She was a faithful Catholic and served the church in many ways throughout her life. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul; her children, Dan (Judy), Anne (Randy), and Ken; five grandchildren, Kyle (Emmy), Eric, Marie (Jason), Iain, and Jessica (Braedyn); and great-grandchild, Nixon. She is predeceased by her brothers, Bill, Joe, Duncan; and sisters, Marie and Betty.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the 3rd floor staff at the Vineyards Residence, who cared for her during the last two years.

So sorry for your loss. I knew Jeanette while working in St. Joseph’s hospital, and Ray is married to my sister in law Anne. Prayers for all the family.
My deepest condolences Paul and family. It was my honour to cut Jeanette’s hair when I first moved to West Kelowna and enjoyed our visits when her & Paul would come in. Again, my condolences.
My deepest condolences to you Paul and your family. Jeanette was a loving, caring person and wonderful wife, mother and friend. I have so many memories of wonderful times spent together with our families. Jeanette brought a special presence to these times, and I admired her. She will certainly be missed.
Sending my deepest condolences … my thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time… I remember Jeannette being full of energy and speaking whatever was on her mind… She was kind and caring… I was blessed to be able to spend some time with her at The Vineyards … Rest in peace Jeannette I am so glad that you were part of my life and the best grandma to my daughter Jessica Ettel. Sincerely, Kellie ❤️
I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Jeannette’s passing. She was an amazing woman in so many ways and those who have known her a long time or even a short time will be forever touched by her. As a young man I traded the East Coast for the West Coast and spent most Sundays and special events with Aunt Jeannette and Uncle Paul and the family. I was so blessed to have been welcomed with arms opened wide and lots of love. As I watched the funeral today my mind took me back 40+ years ago and all the memories I have of this wonderful woman and the beautiful family her and Paul created. To uncle Paul, Dan, Anne Michelle, Ken and families I send my love and prayers.
