We Remember

CRUICKSHANK, Colin James

July 11, 1948 — December 15, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of an amazing man, Colin James Cruickshank, who passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 76.

Colin was truly the greatest, to sum up the type of man he was. A caring father, brother, son, husband, and lately his favourite role as grandad.

Born in Vancouver, BC on July 11, 1948 he was the eldest of 4; Bryan (Donna), Karen (Steve), and David. Colin was raised in Chilliwack on a sheep farm with 2 loving parents (George and Thelma) who taught him his passion for farming and received a degree in Agriculture to follow in his dad’s footsteps. He worked at Farm Credit Corporation for over 30 years, retiring to work with one of his best friends, John Byland where he got to work in a role that no longer felt like work, but a passion. He spent his free time golfing at Kelowna Golf and Country Club, forging lifelong friendships along with his close friends from before he even started his family.

Everything Colin did was done with complete selflessness and compassion. He was one of a kind and will truly, truly be missed every day.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years next September, Julie; and their daughters Aileen (Trevor) with grandkids Alex (10), Amelia (6), and Everett (4), and Noreen (Ryan) with grandkids Landon (9) and Adalynn (7).

Colin is predeceased by his parents and his sister-in-law, Lolita. He leaves behind not only his wife, daughters, and grandchildren but also 2 sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many great friends, all who got to experience his true kindness.

A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring, details to follow.
