We Remember
BEATTY, Devin Wayne
October 28, 1988 — January 21, 2025
Devin Wayne Beatty, born to Trevor and Sherry Beatty in Mission, BC on October 28, 1988, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36 on January 21, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta.
Devin grew up in Kelowna alongside his Dad, Mom, Sister, and Brother. He spent much time enjoying family campouts, hunting, fly fishing, hockey, golfing, dirt biking, and target shooting.
Dev had strong family ties. From early on he was surrounded by the love of his grandparents, aunties, uncles, and many many cousins. He loved visiting with all his extended family. Especially time at his Grandpa and Grandma Beatty’s farm in Saskatchewan and his Grandpa George and Grandma Rita’s house in Mission.
Devin also shared his life with Brittany who he met at Okanagan College. They shared many classes together where their friendship grew. It was soon evident he found someone who loved him and whom he loved dearly. They shared so much together including many good times and much laughter. The two married, along the shores of Okanagan Lake, in the presence of family and friends in the summer of 2021.
Devin was very inquisitive and loved to learn about all that interested him. He graduated from Immaculata Regional High School in Kelowna, in 2006, and he went on to study Business Finance at Okanagan College. He graduated with honors and had a brief career in finance in Kelowna. In the fall of 2014 he was very excited he landed a position in the oil and gas industry in Calgary. He was quickly promoted from logistics to a trading position which he found stimulating and very fulfilling. Here he enjoyed the company of people like him. A career so suited for his brilliant mind.
Outside of work Devin’s interests expanded to fly tying, running, hiking, one-wheeling, and riding his motorbike. He also loved the challenge of perfecting new recipes with his spouse Brittany.
Devin is survived by his parents, Trevor and Sherry; younger siblings, Rachelle (Bukhosi) and Adam (Julia); Brittany; grandparents, many loving aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends. Devin was predeceased by his Grandpa George, Uncle Dusty, and cousin Joe.
Dev, we will dearly miss the beautiful unique you, your quick wit, laughter, and love.

Devin, I really enjoyed our journey together the last decade and it was cut way too short. You are missed more than you know.
Just another picture for the Rolodex. Man we had some great times!
Dear Trevor, Sherry, Rachelle and Adam,
Words really cannot convey how saddened I am on the loss of Devin. I recall the fun times we had at Mission Shores. I remember his love of hockey and attending his games. When we “ran into” each other in Kelowna, he always had time to stop and have a chat.
I will remember his smile.
Your are in my thoughts. Sending much love your way.
Mary Malcolm
Hold on to your wonderful memories of Devin. There cannot be any sorrow worse than losing a child. Heart felt condolences.
