We Remember
POLLEY, Joseph “Stewart”
May 22, 1945 — January 6, 2025
Stewart was born May 22, 1945, in the lower mainland of British Columbia. Stewart passed on January 6, 2025, in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the age of 79. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Marine. Stewart is survived by their 2 children, Gregory and Sandra, as well as his 2 grandchildren, Theresa Schwab and Emily Griffiths. Stewart was also predeceased by his sister Wendy Peterson and her children Bonnie Grafing and Rob Peterson.
Stewart and Marnie began their life together in Delta, BC in 1971, where they purchased their first home and had their 2 children. They moved to Kelowna in the summer of 1983 and had remained there ever since.
Stewart enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his time skiing, camping, fishing, and golfing at Princeton Golf Course. He loved his boat and spent many summer days taking the family out for waterskiing and tubing. If he was at home, you would often find him working in the yard and making sure the grass was well cared for.
Most mornings you would find Stewart out for coffee with his friends discussing many of the world’s problems. Stewart and Marnie had a Sunday morning tradition of going for breakfast with their wonderful friends Ed and Marnie.
Stewart always has a great sense of humour and enjoyed joking around. Even in his last days, he would still be joking with his care team, asking if there was scotch in his IVs.
Stewart will be greatly missed, but will live on in our wonderful, heartwarming memories.
