SPERLE, Matthew “Matt” Anton

Passed away in Kelowna, BC on January 18, 2013. Born December 28, 1922 in Regina, SK. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years Patricia, son Robert Sperle, daughter Jill Sperle, grandchildren Andrea and Kayley Bernard, brothers George (Joyce), Andrew (Betty) and numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly predeceased by son Bryon, brother Joe, sisters Barbara, Mary and Vicki. Matt served his country in WWII. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. The family would like to thank Dr. R. Williams for his compassionate care, as well as the staff of 4B, 5B and Rehab. A special thanks to the staff of Unit C at Cottonwoods, and to the many friends at “Chartwell” who have been so supportive. A memorial mass will be held on Friday January 25, 2013 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9.

I was sadden to see the passing of Mr. Sperle – I have many fond memories of him when I was a kid growing up. Jill and I used to run around his orchard stealing cherries and we thought he didn’t know! but he did… My sincere sympathies to all the family.
