So sorry to hear of Laurel’s passing.
You and your family have had such a hard couple of years. But now Laurel is no longer suffering. You can be proud of how you were there for Laurel, just like you were there for Fuss. Love and hugs from us. Take Care, Wendy and Gerry.
I met Laurel in the mid 1960’s when we both worked at Vancouver Cablevision. She was in charge of one of the departments that repoerted to me and it ran so smoothly that I left it to Laurel to run as she saw fit. We had some good times there and got to know each other on a personal level as friends. We drifted apart for a while and reconnected a few years ago. We never saw each other because of the distance between us but it was nice to talk once in a while. We kept in touch by email for the last while but the end came sooner than I realized it would. I met Chris and Lisa many years ago and just wanted to send my condolences and tell them what a wonderful women their mother was.

We are both so sorry to hear of Laurel’s passing. I spoke to her a few weeks ago & she seemed to be comfortable. Though we hadn’t seen each other in a long time we kept in touch. We will miss her. Your loving sister Heather & brother in law Dale
Laurel and I met when she was only 17 years old and we worked in a doctors office, in Winnipeg, for 2 years. In 1967 we moved to Vancouver and shared an apartment in the west end. We both fell in love at the same time, with 2 good friends, and married them 1 day apart from each other. All of my major life events included Laurel. She was at my side at both my weddings, and we supported each other through both our divorces. We were included in each others children’s lives and my kids called her “Auntie”. We were together through cancer, operations and ALS. Laurel and I were sisters, not through an accident of birth, but because we chose to be. We loved each other warts and all. She knew and kept my deepest secrets. I have lost my best friend, my confidant, my conscience, my critic, my co-conspirator and my champion. Laurel will live on in my heart and mind and she knew how much she meant to me.
Laurel and I met in ’92 through Rogers and we became friends. We shared many a wonderful time together camping, visits to each other and festive “get togethers”. I met her kids and 2 of her grandchildren who she absolutely adored. We shared many laughs and confidences which only brought us closer. The latter years separated us by miles but we were always “in touch”. Laurel occupies a corner of my heart forever and I send much LOVE to her family and friends at this time. Let’s celebrate her life………Bonniexo
I just want to start by saying how very sorry I am for your lose. Laurel was an absolutely wonderful lady. I am so glad to have met her in one of the college courses we took together. Since we both worked for the same employer I felt like there was a bond there.
Meeting her for tea each tuesday before class was wonderful….she would have her green tea as usual….and we would chat a little about the course but more about life. I really will miss her. She had such a great sense of humor. Loved her laugh. Whenever I see a vehicle like the one she had…I think of her. She had told me about when she and Lisa and her family moved up to the okanagan a few years back and how she would babysit Lisas children…and she would pack them up early in the summer days and head for the secluded spot by the beach and she would thoroughly enjoy them….she so adored her grandkids….
In closing…I just want to say how blessed I have been to have known her even though it was a short time.
She will be missed…..:(
Prayers to all of the family members…
Dear Family, I am very sorry to hear of Laurel’s passing. I worked with her during my Rogers years and she was always a kind and considerate partner in the work we did together. I’d like to share a saying from Longfellow from 1839 as follows.
“Take this sorrow to thy heart
And make it part of Thee
And it shall nourish Thee
Till thou art strong again.”
Marian
