FERGUSON, Ken

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 3, 1925 and went to be with the Lord in Kelowna, BC on December 11, 2013, at the age of 88. Ken was one of two sons born to Archibald and Lily Ferguson and grew up in St. Vital, Winnipeg. Survived by his loving wife Elsie of 41 years; his children: Larry (Kimberley), Gregory (Jackie), Richard (Joanne), Kim, Derek (Penny), Kenneth Jr., Bentley (Kimmie); fourteen grandchildren: Laura, Kristin, Kamara, Kelsey, Colin, Lacey, Carly, Graden, Zoe, Brittany, Kali TJ (Tuesday), Alexandria and Natasha; ten great grandchildren: Alex, Ethan, Adian, Shamas, Mason, Brysen, Jace, Rowan, Ty and Isis; nieces: Diane and Margaret. Predeceased by his first wife Mary and brother Archie Jr. Ken joined the Navy at the age of 19 as an Able Seaman and later worked for CN Rail as Head Steward. He had the honour of serving the Queen during her first Royal visit to Canada in 1951 on her cross country tour. Ken was a Manitoba Hotelier from 1972 to 1987. Ken and Elsie retired to Kelowna, BC in 1987. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. My deepest heartfelt condolences to Grandpa Ken’s family and close friends. I’ve heard great stories and memories from my fiancé, Brittany, and I wish I could have met him and have our sons , Mason and Brysen meet their great grandfather. My heart goes out to all of you.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time. Remember all the good times and those memories will carry on with you forever! May he rest in peace.
We would like to express our deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband and father. We have lost a special friend and cousin, will miss Ken very much.
Grandpa.. I’ll miss you lots and everyday you will be in my heart, your now at peace and I know you will be watching over us everyday.. I love you and we will see each other again… glad I got to see when I went up last 🙂
