We Remember
EWENS, Jollean (nee Wiebe)
April 12, 1928 — September 22, 2014
It is with sadness that the family of Jollean Ewens announces her passing on September 22, 2014 in Kelowna, B.C. She leaves behind her loving husband John Ewens, brother Herb Wiebe, five sons, daughter-in-laws and seven grandchildren. Jollean was a resident of Cottonwoods Care Centre, Kelowna, B.C. The last few years, Parkinson’s disease robbed her of a quality of life, but through it all, Jollean kept her chin up and heart set on things above. She embraced her family, friends and career with the same passion, always giving more of herself to others in everything she put her hand to. Raising five boys, she knew how to get to their hearts…through their stomachs. Jollean was a master in the kitchen and knew how to set the tone for an evening of entertainment. She was the hostess with the mostess, but it was a god-given talent as she served others. Her dedication to her family was admirable, as well as her commitment to go the extra mile in her career. She was esteemed highly amongst her peers; Jollean was a lover of souls and treated all with the same respect, dignity and kindness that everyone should receive. Her optimism and faith sustained her through the trials of life; there was never grumbling or complaining, she stayed on the high road through it all. We Bless You Oma and know that you are with the King of Kings in your mansion that He has prepared for you! There will be a Memorial Service for family and friends to be held at the First Baptist Church, 1309 Bernard Ave., Kelowna, B.C., on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. For those wishing to send a condolence, photos or share memories, may do so by scrolling down this page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

George and Nell
Thank you so much George and Nell. I have been negligent in not checking this page daily; hence, the delay. Jollean’s smile and cheerful countenance are mentioned by all who hear of her passing.
In the final analysis, we must be thankful that God enabled her to leave her Parkinson’s prison behind, here on earth.
John
