We Remember
AIMERS, Mildred (Millie) Margaret
October 10, 1934 — October 8, 2016
Mildred (Millie) Margaret Aimers (born Pierce) was born on October 10, 1934 in Toronto. She died of complications related to pneumonia on October 8, 2016 just two days before her 82nd birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Alister James Aimers (died 1981). She is survived by her daughter, Allison Macfarlane, Allison’s husband Martin Macfarlane, and their two children, Sarah and Cameron; and her son, Jim Aimers. Her sister-in-law, Sheila Brown and her son David Aimers were important in her life. Millie will be remembered as a straight shooter with a wry sense of humor who stoically soldiered on when faced with injury and loss in her life. There will be a Celebration of Life held at Lindon House (1449 Ethel St, Kelowna, BC V1Y 2X5) from 4pm to 7 pm on Thursday October 20, 2016. Parking is on side streets as Ethel is under construction. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca), or the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.bc.ca).
