We Remember
ASHTON, Sharon Anne
March 15, 1944 — February 3, 2023
Sharon passed away surrounded by family in Kelowna Hospice House, on February 3, 2023, at 78 years old. Predeceased by her husband Garth and son Roger Rainer, she is survived by her children, Theresa Lynne, Laurie (Grant), and Donna (James), as well as her stepson, Todd (Joann); her 8 grandchildren, Kendra, Mitchel, Daryn, Joshua, Drew, Candice, Jacy, and Ryann; her 3 great-grandchildren, Bentley, Hazel, and Lennon.
Born in Killam, AB, Sharon was a true Alberta girl. When she was young, liked volleyball. She excelled as a student and loved learning new things, mastering use of a computer and internet in later life. As an adult, her hobbies were travelling with her husband, camping, knitting, crocheting, baking, canning for her family, and shopping excursions to Walmart. Sharon loved gardening and took pride in her roses.
Sharon was able to live most of her life in the Okanagan and often referred to it as “God’s country”. Sharon loved her career as a nurse. After her retirement, she supported her husband Garth in his lawn care business. She loved her pets Missy and Buddy. We would like to thank the Homecare Palliative Nursing Team and the Kelowna Hospice House for their amazing care and kindness.
Memorial service to be announced. Please make donations to the Hospice House Central Okanagan in lieu of flowers.

Our condolences to Sharon’s Family. She was a good friend for quite a few years but after Garth passed we didn’t have much contact. Hopefully she will be at peace now.
I never knew my sister Sharon through no fault of hers or mine, I believe. May she rest in peace and may we meet sometime in the “after life” !
I am saddened about hearing of Sharon passing you will be missed
My prayers are with the family
We were sadden to hear of of my sisters passing.. I had tried for years to find her but never knew her last name of Ashton. We remember visiting Sharon and you siblings in Port Coquitlam in the early days. I’m sorry we hadn’t connected over the years. Peace be with you and God Bless you all.
