We Remember
BARNES, James
—
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of James Barnes. James was fighting for his life at Kelowna General Hospital but unfortunately, because his heart was just too weak and other underlying issues came into factor, we had to make one of the hardest decisions as a family. He was taken off life support on June 5, 2023. James Bryon Barnes is survived by his mother Abigail Barnes; father Brian Barnes; children Chrystina Palmer, Alexis Barnes, Brian Barnes, and Garth Barnes; son-in-law Joey Palmer; daughter-in-law Erika Barnes; grandchildren Payten, Rachel, Isabelle, Tyrone, and Gauge; brother Jason Barnes; and his nieces and nephews.
James was loved by all his family and friends dearly. We will all remember that special smile, that caring heart, and his warm embrace he shared with others. May each tear and each fond memory be a note of love rising to meet you.
We would like to thank the amazing team who worked with James at Kelowna General Hospital, and for all their life-saving measures that took place among the kindness and compassion, and support given to us through that difficult and challenging time.
Never say “Goodbye”. There can be no goodbyes. For us it’d be too painful, our connections still live on. Although you’re far from here, we will miss all the cherished times we once had. But one day, once again, we’ll hold you close again and laugh with you. We just know each moment till that day arrives, we will miss you more than words can say, and always think of the moments big or small we all embraced with you. We will look for you among the stars, and each dawn’s pastel sky, and whisper words of “I love you” but never goodbye only until we meet again. Rest in paradise, our dark angel of the night.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

To my beloved son James, each wave, every skipped rock on the water, I will share with you, until we meet again on that distant shore. Your mother loves you and misses you. Mom
