We Remember
Bell, Pamela
January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970
Pamela Bell died April 6, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Despite the ravages of Parkinson’s she never complained. She is survived by; her loving husband of 66 years John, daughters Erica (Ben) Kelowna, Lesley (Stephen) Hudson, Quebec, Jennifer (Arthur) Port Alberni, Elizabeth (Brian) Naramata, son Jim (Karen) Whitehorse, Yukon, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pamela was born in Byfleet, England in 1927 and moved to Hudson, Quebec in 1946 as a young war bride. With their children grown, Pamela and John relocated to Kelowna in 1974 where Pamela continued her passion for nurturing children and being an active member of her community. Pamela’s love of children began as a young volunteer in a wartime children’s nursery in Woking, England. She enrolled as a mature student in Okanagan College and was a member of the first graduating class in Early Childhood Education. Pamela’s lifelong volunteerism included being a founding member of the Kelowna South-Central Associations of Neighbourhoods and spending many hours assisting others. Loving life and adventure, Pamela was an avid sailor, walker and cross-country skier. She also enjoyed dancing, singing in the choir at St. Michaels and attending local symphony concerts. Pamela, you were and still are an inspiration to your family – you will be missed every day. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Three Links Manor for the love, care and attention they provided Pamela during the two years she stayed with them.

On behalf of Friends and Residents of the Abbott Street Heritage Conservation Area Society I would like to send condolences to Pamela’s family and this time of loss. Pamela was so faithful in dropping off her membership and I did enjoy seeing her walk her little dog in the neighbourhood. She was a lovely lady with a very kind spirit and really cared about our FRAHCAS neighbourhood. She will be missed by many. Barbara Carroll, FRACHAS board, membership chair.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Auntie Pamela. We fondly remember her visit of support after the loss of our Mum (her sister). Her coming all the way to Australia was a wonderful gift.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time
