We Remember
BOOKER, Travis
—
On March 31, 2023, Travis Michael Booker passed away unexpectedly at the age of 28 years, in Yellowknife, doing what he loved, playing basketball.
Travis will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Todd & Brenda Booker; his sister, Ashley; his maternal grandmother Carol Vlahovic; paternal grandparents Harvey & Ivy Booker; aunts Sheila (Craig), Debbie, and Sherry (Dave); and cousins, Ryan, Kolby, Skye, Jimmy, Lisa, and Robert. Travis will join his maternal grandfather, Ivan Vlahovic in spirit.
Although Kelowna was home for Travis, his northern life and friends were his world. May Trav’s “Bookerism’s” live on forever.
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories were a lane.
We would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
and only God knows why.

We are heartbroken to have lost our amazing nephew, Travis and our hearts ache for my brother Todd, sister in law Brenda & our dear niece Ashley. We are so thankful for spending time with Travis at Christmas & hear him tell us all his helicopter stories & all his adventures in Yellowknife. Travis was such a gentle soul & had the greatest smile… There will always be a void in our family now. Our lives are forever changed, but we’ll always cherish the special memories we hold in our hearts of our time with our special Travis.
Love you dearly Todd, Brenda & Ashley. Our thoughts & prayers are with you daily.
I loved Travis like a little brother. Playing basketball with him for endless hours on our street are memories I will always cherish. He was the kindest, most pure human being I’ve come across. He was a true blessing to anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. To Todd, Brenda and the whole family, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest easy, “Skinny me”.
I met Travis during his gap year in Australia, was such a kind and caring person. Shocked to hear the news, thoughts are with family at this difficult time.
I remember Travis so fondly from his time at Marysville Australia in2014 as one of our “gappies”. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
Brenda & Todd

Brenda Todd Ashley and Carol. We have fond memories of Travis from the day gramps Ivan called to say we have a grandson. So excited to share the wonderful news. We were always updated on his exploits. His life wasn’t long here with us but he made a huge impact that will never be forgotten by those who he touched❤️❤️
Brenda and Todd, words cannot effectively express my deepest sympathies. I only met Travis once and I was affected immediately by his peaceful spirit. I wish you and your family love and strength as you try to cope with this unimaginable loss. Peacefully, Brett Wade
Its very hard to imagine having to write this… im so sorry for your loss. The sadness i feel about this is hard to put into words, yet doesnt compare to all of you. Travis was so fun to be around. We worked very hard together yet took advantage of any chance we had to be stupid and immature to one another. I was so happy for him when he went up north to start his path.. when i get together with the boys from time to time, we often spoke of him. We missed those times, and him. Even more now. Again, im so very sorry for your loss.
Though i hadnt seen him for a while, never did i think i wouldnt see his smile or hear his laugh again.
If theres anything ever i can do to help, please dont hesitate.
My heart hurts for you
Our deepest condolences to the Booker family.
Travis will be remembered as a kind and funny soul, gone way too soon. The North, Kelowna and everywhere else will miss you my friend.
