We Remember
BOUVETTE, Lawrence
—
Gone to join his beloved wife Yvonne. Born July 18, 1932 and died October 12, 2016 at the age of 84. Lawrence was a lifelong resident of Kelowna, the 12th of 13 children, born to Frank and Ada Bouvette. He was an expert on local history and loved to share stories of growing up here in his home town. Like his father, Lawrence worked over 40 years at Simpson’s Sawmill (now Tolko). It was there he met the love of his life, Yvonne Deleurme. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage until her passing in 2005. He missed her every day, but made the best of his years without her, making new friends at Chatsworth (2008-2013) and Village at Mill Creek (2014-2016). Thanks to all of you who enriched his life with your friendship and thoughtful care. Lawrence was kind and generous, a gentle soul. He always saw the good in everyone, never complained and made the best of whatever life brought his way. He loved playing the guitar around the campfire, dancing, country music, reminiscing, off color jokes and red wine. Most of all he loved his family. He was our number one cheerleader and supporter. Survived by his daughter Denise Butticci (Dan), son Len (Joanne); grandchildren: Jason Bouvette (Leah), Terry Butticci, Lee Bouvette, Jamie Bennie (Kevin), Stephen Butticci, Stacey Butticci, Jessie Gray, Victoria Gray; great grandchildren: Jordan and Owen Bouvette, Kaylee Courtorielle (Brandon), Charlette and Hunter Bennie, Olivia, Seth and Kalon Butticci, Landon Gray; sister Marion Fast (Ed); brothers-in-law Bob Gust, Marcel Deleurme, Lucien Deleurme (Rosemary), Lionel Deleurme, Denis Deleurme (Doreen); sister-in-law Angie Greenlay (Jim), Judy and Heidi Deleurme as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his wife Yvonne; daughter-in-law Charlette; brothers (and sisters-in-law) Bob (Gwen), Frank (Helen), Stan (Babs), Cliff (Joy), Don, Hurby; sisters (and brothers-in-law) Rose (Bert), Eva (Pete), Vera (Cecil), Blanche (George), Lillian; brothers-in-law Andre Deleurme, Ron Deleurme and sister-in-law Marilyn Deleurme. Denise, we were very sorry to hear of your father’s passing. Our sincere condolences to you and your family.
Martin and Donna
To Lawrence’s family, extended family, and friends my utmost condolence on your loss. There are far to many great and good memory we all must have for such a outstanding man such as Lawrence, as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, to make us smile and laught and to lean on in our mourning. I’m sure he would want for us all to follow a simple outlook of; “Don’t mourn my death celebrate my life!, and I shall live on in your hearts!”. Further a great poem in it’s short form The Broken Chain,; “Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, The Chain will link again” ! My thoughts will be on you all, and send my very best wishes, lots of big Hugs and lots of Love !!
