We Remember

CHARLEBOIS, Victor
May 30, 1937 — January 30, 2025
Victor “Vic” Charlebois passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous battle with health complications.
Vic lived a rich and fulfilling life. He was an ironworker and teacher in Ontario before retiring to Whistler, BC, where he embraced the mountains as a ski instructor and golf course manager. He later “second-retired” to the Okanagan, continuing his involvement in the golf community and famously greeting callers with “Victor of Kelowna speaking!”
Vic and his wife Fran were married for 63 years. Their partnership was one of deep love and mutual support. Together, they poured their hearts into numerous home redevelopment projects, a passion they later extended to charitable work, with Vic contributing his time to house repairs in support of his local church. Fran’s passing in 2019 left a profound void in Vic’s life, but their shared memories remained a source of comfort and strength.
Beyond his professional and personal pursuits, Vic was a man of strong community ties. He found joy and camaraderie through his spiritual life, where he contributed time and fellowship within the faith community. Vic was a mentor to many, and his warm spirit and genuine interest in others touched countless lives.
Vic will be deeply missed by his daughters, Brit and Kirsten; their husbands, Alan and Bobby; and his cherished grandchildren, Frida and Dexter. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and community spirit that will be remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Vic’s life will be held in mid-April. If you knew Vic and would like to attend, please email kir.danelski@gmail.com.

I miss you, friend!
Such sad news. I knew Vic & Fran in the years that they served as deacons at Vernon Alliance Church. They were gracious, compassionate and very discerning. Their willingness to help out was always spurred by their desire to build community and encourage others in their healing journeys. And Dexter and Frida were the joy of their lives!! My thoughts and prayers are for their daughters and families as they grieve Vic’s passing.
