We Remember

CLARK, Douglas William “Doug”

May 26, 1959 — August 16, 2024

“Many will start fast; few will finish strong”. – Gary Ryan Blair

On August 16, 2024, at the age of 65, Doug Clark finished strong, leaving behind a tale of adventure, charisma, and unrelenting energy. From the moment he received his first set of skis at just five years old, his family knew he was built for speed. As a young man, Doug’s passion for skiing saw him hitchhiking to the mountains, determined to carve out his place on the slopes. His love for the sport led him to compete, always pushing the limits and chasing the thrill.

But Doug’s adventurous spirit didn’t stop at skiing. He was a natural athlete, thriving in any sport that demanded speed and skill. Water-skiing, parasailing, and boating were just a few of the activities that kept him close to the lakes he loved. With a friend, Doug even opened the first parasailing company in Kelowna, turning his passion into a pioneering venture.

Summers were spent living on a boat, where he soaked up the sun and embraced the lake life to its fullest. Everywhere Doug went, his infectious smile and vibrant personality lit up the room. He made friends effortlessly, drawing people in with his charm and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Survived by his son, Dylan Clark, and Dylan’s mother Christine; his parents, Donna Clark, and Jack Clark (Ruby); as well as many extended family members and countless friends, Doug’s memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love for life, adventure, and the people around him will be remembered and celebrated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House Central Okanagan.
