We Remember

CONNAUGHTON, Brian “Fuzzy”

“Fuzzy” Brian Connaughton left the party in Kelowna abruptly on December 3, 2024, he’s now at the party on the other side. There was some speculation he got fed up with arguing with his voice enabled cellphone, while others mentioned the host may have run out of vodka. Either way, rather than complain (which was not his style), he left.

Hundreds of Kelowna residents said they were very surprised by his early departure, and several bakeries and chocolatiers have said “Fuzzy” and his tap, tap, tapping Christmas-lit-cane will be missed. His leaving is expected to have a significant impact on sales and inventory. Social clubs also mentioned whomever takes over his chair will have a challenge matching his wit and comments. Several people mentioned this leaves them without a “go to” guy, as “Fuzzy” was always able to help with getting a problem fixed – or if not, he was the guy who “knew a guy”.

Former employers remember him as being a hard worker, however they thought his best work was done as the unofficial greeter and Social Convener at “The Willow”.  He is now memorialized on the standing stones of Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, enabling his golfing buddies to raise a toast to all the great memories as they pass by. Regardless, his ashes have been scattered on the scattering trail, several people have said he’s not getting away without one final party – which will be arranged in the months to come.

“Fuzzy” was Born in Prestatyn and lived in Holywell, North Wales as a boy. He had very fond memories of the time he spent in Africa. His life in Canada was lived in Sault Ste. Marie, ON; Windsor, ON; and Kelowna, BC.

He is fondly remembered by friends, and his brothers Martin and Graham (and Graham’s family: Bonnie, Alistair, Stephanie, and Jesse). Some of his ashes are being taken home to the final resting place of his parents, Harry & Norah.

His Ontario family would like to especially thank Donna Follack & Victoria (Tori) Buxton, whose invaluable assistance in this transition has been very much appreciated. His Ontario family would also like to thank the Orchard Grove staff (and management) and Springfield Funeral Home for their caring assistance.

“Fuzzy” Forever Remembered.
