We Remember

COSTA, Amandio do Carmo
June 5, 1936 — February 13, 2025
It is with great love and sadness that we announce the loss of Amandio Costa, who passed away doing what he loved most, working on his orchard property, on February 13, 2025, at the age of 88.
Amandio was born on June 5, 1936, in Casegas, Portugal, where he learned the value of hard work on his family farms. Determined to build a better future, Amandio, his wife Lucinda, with their infant son immigrated to Canada in 1964. Together, they worked tirelessly to establish their orchard business and create a life rooted in love, family, and community. He found joy in caring for his family, his land, sharing homemade wine, and in family gatherings filling his home with music and laughter.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was a role model of generosity, resilience, and love. His memory lives on in his children, Antonio (Tomoko) and Lidia (Todd); and his cherished granddaughters Breanna (Jordy), Aya, Celina, and Julia. He now goes to join family members who passed before him, including his beloved wife, Lucinda and five brothers: Antonio, Viriato, Jose, Julio, and Alvaro.
Amandio’s strong presence and determination was always inspiring and comforting for his friends and family. He will be deeply missed, but we find comfort in knowing he lived a full life filled with love, and is now resting in peace with his beautiful wife.
We love you, Amandio, Friend, Tio, Vovo, Father — thank you for sharing your extraordinary life with us.
