CRISPIN, Charles
September 17, 1951 — April 8, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Chuck” Crispin. His journey quietly came to an end and has now begun his journey on the other side with our ancestors.
Chuck was survived by his son Mikhail Crispin (Sherylynn); his sisters Michele Morrison and Nicole Crispin; his brother Roger Crispin (Joyce); his nieces Wendy Morrison, Kathy Morrison, Jessica Crispin, and Megan Crispin; his nephew David Grevy (Danna); great-nieces Amelia, Alida, and Chester; and his fur-grandchild Duke. Chuck was predeceased by his father Germain “Ted” Crispin and his mother Rita Crispin; his brother David Crispin; and his cousin Danny.
Though he was born during the early fall of ’51 in Sturgeon Falls, ON, Chuck spent his childhood living in Levack, ON. Then his journey brought him to Vancouver, BC where he worked as a commercial fisherman and, soon after, opened his own Shoe Repair Shop. Eventually, he moved to Mission, BC where he met his son’s mother Jeannette Diablo and where Mikhail was born in ’82. But as life should have it, the two were not destined to be together and Chuck moved back East again with Mikhail to settle in Sudbury, ON.
Life moved forward and Chuck found himself back in British Columbia in his later years where his two sisters and son now live. He made his home in Kelowna, BC with his sister Michele and where his journey in life ended. Though his ride came early, he left with a smile and a wave.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the well wishes and humble condolences during this trying time. A Celebration of Life will be put on hold until we are able to gather again when the COVID-19 pandemic passes. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
Sending condolences in the loss of Charlie. I grew up in Levack until I graduated high school, and remember Charlie well. I have lived in Kelowna with my husband Toly since 2007, and wish I had known that Charlie was living here as well. Condolences to the family, Bonnie & Toly Korolow
My condolences to Chuck’s family. Chuck was in my class in high school in Levack and I have many good memories of his family….Linda Demers-Kuchma
Michele, Nicole, Roger and Mikhail and family, My deepest condolences and sympathies on the passing of your brother and father. “Charlie” was a longtime childhood friend and neighbour in Levack. Many fun adventures and athletic competitions together. Our last visit in Sudbury, we played bridge, attended the LDHS reunion and stayed at my camp in Biscotasing. Wonderful memories – my thoughts and prayers with tobacco, Raymond Hatfield
Sending my sincere condolences to all Charlie’s family and friends. I knew Charlie through my brother Raymond, My favorite memory of him is the time he taught me how to drive a motorcycle in my teens. I was amazed he trusted me with his bike. His training helped me when I needed to learn to drive a standard later in life. We’ve lost a good one too soon.
We go back a long way Michele..I am so sorry to here about the passing of Chuck…we grew up together at the apartments we had some good times ..we are still in Levack….our condolences to you the family..Louise (Ladouceur) and Alan Pulvermacher..
Honestly I don’t know if I thought of this man as a family-friend, a great-uncle, or my self-adopted Grandpa.
I first met him when I was younger and I used to live in the Ol-Scowlitz family home. He came to visit his son, (my uncle Mikhail) and my Aunty Shery.
After short while, he became apart of our family, we would see him at family dinners, or holidays like Christmas or at sport events. Chuck even came to my graduation from high school.
Chuck and I would have random conversations, one time he told me: that when he came down from Ontario to see Mikhail, he went every casino on the way, I found this to be a funny story that he took advantage of his cross-country travelling and got some gambling in.
I remember one time, me and Chuck went to Boston pizza together because we both complaining on how hungry we were. We ordered Spahgetti and meat balls then went back to tzeachten fields to see the family.
Love that in the article it says he is fur-grandpa to Mikhail and Shery dog, Duke 💙
Honestly still hard to believe that he is gone, this will be take awhile to process. Especially not being able to see the family during their time of grief. Breaks my heart knowing I can’t be their to support my family, Mikhail & Shery during their time of grief. So weird to vent so viral and to send *virtual hugs*
Chuck will be missed. And Chuck was loved by many and will always be remembered in our hearts. ♡
