We Remember
DEPATIE, Lynn Margaret Eleanor
January 4, 1943 — August 27, 2023
Lynn’s courageous fight with cancer has come to an end. Her positive outlook and spit fire nature kept her fighting for over seven years. Lynn’s memory is carried on through her children Scott (Stacey), Drew (Nicelle), Corrine (Anthony), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lynn was raised in Field and Revelstoke, BC, with the family name Connolly and later moved to Calgary, AB, where she met her soul mate and husband of over 53 years, Richard DePatie, in Banff, AB.
Their sons and daughter, Scott, Drew & Corrine, were shortly followed with a move to their family acreage in Okotoks, AB. In between being a great stay at home mom, Lynn was employed as a legal assistant and later a recruiter in Calgary.
Retirement brought Lynn and Richard to Kelowna, BC in 1997, where they loved their adventurous and social life for over 25 years. If you were at the Kelowna hospital over ten years ago, you would have met the curly hair, redheaded volunteer Lynn at the Perking Lot café.
Lynn had a big personality; she was always positive, quick-witted, and a keeper of many stories. She loved to talk to anyone! Be it a store clerk or stranger on the street. Lynn always made quick friends with anyone she ran into and knew their life stories within their five-minute conversation.
Lynn absolutely loved all types of music and could be found dancing around her kitchen on any given day.
The DePatie family would like to thank all those for their support and kind words at this time. The family is planning a memorial later this year.
Lynn, a mom, grandma, and friend, made a difference in the lives of the people she met. She will be greatly missed by all.

Dear Depatie Family,
Lynn’s positive, friendly, and funny demeanor will be greatly missed. She had an energy to her that would make you feel special and could brighten your day. My earliest memory of her was when she saw me out on the street and wanted to know how old I was so that her grandson would have someone to hangout with when he visited. I always knew when Tyler was coming because she would give me the heads up. She also introduced me to my first ever candy apple for Halloween one year (homemade). As I grew older her and Richard would always chat out on the street when I’d walk by or wave as my car passed. Wishing your family all the best during this difficult time.

I was so saddened to read about Lynn’s passing. I met her many years ago while volunteering in Kelowna General Hospital’s Perking Lot. I always loved my shift with Lynn! She was full of energy, friendly and fun to be around! She knew how to multitask during a long lineup. It was always impressive to see how quickly she could make a coffee, that required several special requests, while visiting with every customer in a long line-up. What a good memory she had! She trained me as a volunteer and my shift flew by whenever we worked together. I will think of Lynn the next time I’m near the Perking Lot and will order a coffee in her memory.
Cherish the best memories of Lynn and may you hear her laughter on the days you need it most.
Sincerely,
Julie Fiorentino
We had some fun times with Lynn and Richard..They were wonderful neighbours and friends. Both were very special to us and we talked on a daily basis.. They had a loving presence and were an inspiration to us both. May your own happy memories be a comfort to you now…With love, Kathy and Terry
Sincerest condolences to Lynn’s family. I volunteered at the Perking Lot at KGH with Lynn for many years. Always a fun time and she will be missed.
I loved going to the Perking Lot when Lynn was working. She always greeted me by name, knew my drink, and ordered it right away. We had time to chat and laugh. What a delightful person!
