We Remember

DOWNARD, Linda Joan (née Krupka, née Clearwater)
April 20, 1944 — March 15, 2025
If you are reading this, you know that I have died. I did not go through the pearly gates, on any celestial journey to a golden pasture, I did not go to meet my Lord, or to join either (or both) of my beloved husbands. In fact, I didn’t go to meet anyone who may have died before me and there are no heavy hearts and sadness — I have simply died on March 15, 2025.
I was born on April 20, 1944 to John and Mary Krupka in Eastdale, Manitoba. I grew up in that farming community, attending school at Eastdale and Cloverleaf High School until the age of 16, when I moved to Winnipeg, working at various jobs, culminating in my final career at Air Canada, from which company I retired in 1992.
I married Thomas Murray Clearwater in 1977, who passed away in 1987. We enjoyed our travels throughout the world, courtesy of Air Canada.
I subsequently married William Edward Downard in 1991. We enjoyed 25 years together, also travelling the world, also courtesy of Air Canada, finally limiting our travels to our home in Surprise, Arizona. Bill passed away in 2016.
In addition, I was predeceased by my parents, John and Mary Krupka, my siblings, Leona (Frank) Salanski, Allen (Margaret) Krupka, and Adeline (Carl) Zielinski.
At my request, no service will be held. If you wish to donate to a charity in my memory, please do so to the KGH foundation, or to a charity of your choice.
And that’s all there is, folks! We won’t be seeing each other again, so I’ll say goodbye and not au revoir because “au revoir” means “until we meet again”, and we all know that isn’t going to happen.
Cheers, folks!
