We Remember
DUNN, Maurice
July 5, 1925 — April 23, 2023
Maurice William Dunn (affectionately known as “Monnie” by those who loved him) passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
He is survived by his caregivers, Donna, Caroline, and Jacqueline. We take comfort in his words, that he repeated over and over, “Donna, I have lived a great life”.
By profession, Monnie, was an Engineer, and during his career had many interesting jobs.
Monnie was a gifted storyteller and had an incredibly sharp mind right to the very end. He regaled all of us with stories of his witness of World War II. To those he loved, he gave the gift of history and knowledge. He was one of a kind, which can be attested to by the staff at Kelowna General Hospital and Orchard Gardens.
We will miss him, Big Time!
Monnie will be laid to rest at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. However, it was Monnie’s wish that there be no service.
If you wish to send a condolence, post photos, or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
I am saddened to hear of your sudden passing. I am happy to have seen you experience true quality of life and joy thanks to the loving care and support Donna provided. You deserved that unconditional love and happiness. Rest easy Monnie.
Rest in Peace, Dad
Also Maurice is survived by his two daughters Colleen and Denise and his four grandsons Richard, Robert, Christopher, and Matthew. Grandsons to be proud of! In addition his great grandson, the adorable Jakob (Jake) , is wishing his great grandpa Dunn a peaceful transition to the afterlife. xo
