We Remember

FRANK, Arnold

October 16, 1928 — April 22, 2013

We are saddened to announce the passing of Arnold Frank on April 22, 2013 at the age of 84. He was born October 16, 1928 in Pukinin, Poland. Arnold will be lovingly remembered by Doris, his devoted wife of 53 years, along with his two children Mark (Shannon) and Simone (Randy) Hardy as well as his four grandchildren Amanda, Vanessa, Josh and Matt. Arnold also leaves behind his sister Alice Schmidt, his brother Halfdan (Christel) as well as his extended family and treasured friends. He was predeceased by his parents Theodor and Berta and his sister Hilde Juergens. After living the early years of their marriage in Edmonton and Winfield, Arnold and Doris settled in Westbank after finding the stunning lakeshore property where they would raise their family and create a beautiful resort that others could also enjoy. Boucherie Beach Resort became a special place that created cherished memories for so many over the wonderful 48 years that it belonged to the family. Arnold will always be remembered for his love of working hard, his ability to fix almost anything, his loving devotion to his family, his quiet and gentle strength and his unwavering Christian faith. Although he will be greatly missed, his loved ones are reassured in the fact that he is now and forever in God’s loving embrace. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2091 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC. Reception to follow. Dear Doris, Mark Shannon Simone Randy and Children. It was with great sadness we learned of the passing of Arnold. We will always remember him with fond memories and of his kind and gentle sole. I will especially miss him as we spent many days and evenings enjoying a glass of wine and me being able to bring some smoked salmon or a bottle of wine to him to enjoy. Our talks and mutual interests were always a highlight for me. Our years of seeing him at the early hours as we headed off to Woods lake to catch fish and Arnold moving sprinklers or cleaning BBQ’s biking about or many other chores he did every day. He was always so thoughtful to help me with my boat landings by removing the sand from the ramp so my little vehicle could pull the boats out.He was a wonderful Husband Father and provider and a good hearted sole to everyone else who shared his life and dream of Boucherie Beach. His daily swims in the lake was an inspiration his love of the property and the care he gave to his guests will always be remembered. I considered him a true friend and he reminded me always of my own father before he passed.I hope one day to meet with him again and share a sunset together. Our thoughts to you all and may God bless your next number of difficult days. Please know that he is in the light and waiting for us all.

  • Nancy (& Shandip) Saha (nee Grantham) says:

Mr. Frank’s legacy is enormous. His life touched so many people’s lives; he made our lives so much richer and better. His vision was incredible, he accomplished what most people can hardly conceive of … and he did it with love and with charity and kindness, using his herculean talents to enhance our lives through his life’s work. When I was a little child, I watched him build the cabins and smile and gently manage his constant duties with ease and grace. We have deeply felt the blessings his life has given to the world, including his gentleness, generosity, quiet strength, faith, diligence, hard work, passion, all in evidence through the amazing and tender care he gave to the resort all through the years. Even with all of the amazing gifts he gave throughout his life, to so many families and individuals, perhaps his greatest legacy is his wonderful and devoted and talented family … and it is with sympathy and love that I think of all of you today. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Much love, Nancy (nee Grantham) & Shandip Saha
