We Remember
GABRIELLI, Gino
July 14, 1945 — October 5, 2024
Born on July 14, 1945, in the town of Vermiglio, Italy, Gino Gabrielli passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones, in Kelowna, BC, on October 5, 2024, at the age of 79.
Gino is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Michele Gabrielli; his children and stepchildren, Sonya, Anselmo (Shelley), Jason (Pam), and Michael; his many cherished grandchildren; and his dear sisters, Bruna and Lisa. He was predeceased by his parents, Anselmo & Serafina (née Delpero) Gabrielli, as well as by his brother and sister.
Gino moved to Canada as a young man and honed his craft as a carpenter. He became a Master Carpenter who was known for the precision of his work, work that he poured himself into. His quiet strength, love for his family, and enduring pride in his Italian heritage will long be remembered.
As per Gino’s wishes, no formal service will be held. He will be honoured in the hearts of his family and friends, each carrying their own remembrances of the man he was.
When I Go
When I go,
don’t learn to live without me,
just learn to live with my love,
in a different way.
And if you need to see me,
close your eyes,
or look in your shadow,
when the sun shines,
I’m there.
Sit with me in the quiet
and you will know,
that I did not leave.
There is no leaving when a soul is
blended with another.
When I go,
don’t learn to live without me,
just learn to look for me
in the moments.
I will be there.

Jason please pass my condolences to your family.
We are very sorry to hear of Gino’s passing. We knew him from attending the old Army & Navy many years ago and we used to take our elderly mom once in awhile and Gino would always come over and speak with her. She really enjoyed him and he always made her laugh. One day he presented her with a birdhouse that he had made and it still hangs in our big maple tree in the back yard. We will always remember him fondly.
