We Remember
Geddes, Robert Alan “Bob”
April 23, 1955 — January 22, 2024
On January 22, 2024, Bob Geddes passed away from a rare kidney cancer at his home, surrounded by family. He was 68 years old.
Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Claire, his daughters Erin (Ryan) and Heather (Art), and his grandsons, Austin and Jayden. He is also survived by his siblings Sheila, Jim, Bonnie (Chris), and sister-in-law Barb, and by extended family who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his mother, Ethel, and his brother, Doug.
Bob was born and raised in New Westminster as one of five children. Always quick to joke and laugh, he had a big personality and a social nature that helped make him an excellent salesman. Bob loved playing lacrosse in his younger years, as well as swimming in the ocean and the Okanagan’s many lakes, and listening to classic rock. He was an avid sports fan, never missing a Vancouver Canucks game, and had a love for food, especially ice cream.
His daughters, Erin and Heather, will remember their father’s loving nature, and Claire goes on to remember an extraordinary life partner who always made her laugh and smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held on SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM, the week of Bob’s birthday, located at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. There will be a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Foundation.
The family would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Rachel Carver, Dr. Josh Wiesenthal, Dr. Matthew Ho, and Dr. Nathan Strauss for their expertise and care. As well, thank you to the palliative care team who helped keep Bob comfortable, and to the friends who supported the family along the way.

To the family, so sorry for your loss. – I haven’t seen Bob in many years, but he was always around our house growing up in New West, and his name brings a smile to my face as I remember the time at Manning Park he put some bread in his “big” hair and a Whiskey Jack landed on his head and ate the treat – what a laugh we all had, and Bob had a great big grin!
Dear Claire and family,
This is heartbreaking to hear. Such a wonderful well loved man who brought laughs to everyone, taken way too soon.. My deepest condolences to you, your family and everyone who were fortunate to know him.. His heart his resting and now lives in ours. RIP dear “Bobby”.
Although we didn’t know Bob well we could always count on him to stop and have a chat, either when he was passing by in his truck, or when he was walking with his beloved Claire. Duane and I would always comment on the kind and caring aura he exuded, as well as the obvious loving relationship he shared with Claire. Words fall short of expressing our deep sadness for the loss of a wonderful person, and the void it will leave behind for his family.

I’ve known Bob since the late 1990″s when I had managed 97 Street Pub. After that I had taken over 3 more Pubs after in which he was always to help me in any which way he could. I still remember when he golfed with me and a girlfriend up at Sunset Ranch Golf & Country.. She was driving rather erratically and we ended up in a reveen. After we got the cart unstuck, Bob insisted on her riding with him. The next hole zi had driven a ball beside the green. Bob yelled out that if I made it in the hole, he would sponsor my pub with a Keg of beer. Guess what?! Yes I nailed it!! Sure going to miss that big guy with his huge smile!🤗🤗
