GERK, Margaret
—
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing on January 9, 2014, of our dear Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Margaret Gerk. Mom is survived by her five children, John (Joyce), Bill (Kathy), Tom (Pat), Ted (Marina) and Debbie all of Kelowna, as well as 25 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John, in 1992. Born in 1934 in Vancouver, she was raised at Copper Mountain, BC, where she met the man of her dreams and was married in 1953. Dear mom,
To quote a favourite song of yours; you sailed your vessel until the river ran dry. Now I will continue to choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tide. Rest in peace my angel and protector.
Forever in my heart, your loving daughter.

To Marg’s family:
I taught line dancing, and Marg was a part of our little line dance family, first at the Water Street Senior’s Center, then at the studio I had at my house. I loved the weekly hugs Marg always insisted on giving everyone (especially Donna, the non-hugger in our group!). She loved to talk about her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, and always had pictures handy, ready to show off her wonderful family! I moved to Calgary in September, and one of the things I missed most was my Wednesday morning line dance ladies. Seeing Marg and the rest of the gals was one of my favorite times each week.
Marg will be dearly missed by all who have known her.
Debra
