We Remember
HANSEN, Jack & June
—
John “Jack” and June Hansen left this world within 17 months of each other, peacefully reunited in eternity after sharing a 60-year marriage. Their love story began in the remote town of Renata, British Columbia, and blossomed into a lifetime of cherished memories.
June Frances Lang Hansen, 91, was born in Brandon, Manitoba, and moved with her family to British Columbia as a child. Known for her gentle wisdom and kind heart, her life was dedicated to spreading the word of God. Her passion for evangelism led her to work in various capacities within the church, inspiring hope and salvation in Christ with her nurturing spirit.
John “Jack” Henry Hansen, 83, was born in Trail, British Columbia. An outdoorsman at heart, Jack enjoyed a long, fulfilling career in forestry. He had a notorious love of sweets and a gregarious sense of humour that brought smiles and laughter to those around him. His warm nature and creativity shone through in his diverse hobbies, including fishing, photography, and woodworking, where he channelled his artistic talents.
Together, Jack and June built a life rich in love, faith, and family. They were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of their lives. Their home was a sanctuary of warmth and community. Their 60-year marriage was a testament to their commitment. They supported each other through life’s highs and lows, demonstrating the true essence of partnership. Jack and June were active members of their church, always ready to lend a helping hand or a comforting word.
June was known for her beautiful voice, often singing and playing the piano at church. After surviving cancer, her holistic approach to health included a clean eating diet and preserving mountains of vegetables and fruit from her garden.
Jack, born with a fishing pole in hand, had many a ‘whale tale’ and was happiest in his waders on the river, casting his fly rod.
Their legacy lives on in the love and values they instilled in their family. The couple shared a profound faith in God, which guided their lives and brought them peace in their final days. They are now reunited in Heaven.

Sorry I cant be there today.
With deepest sympathy on the passing of Jack and June, may they rest in peace together forever.
Jack has remained a good friend for many years after working at our former lodge ” SUSKEENA ” I will miss his teasing and humor, and sneaking raw cookie dough, playing cards.
I only met June a couple times, but she was a sweet and kind. They made a perfect couple.
My heart goes out to all of you.
