HARDER, James
June 3, 1943 — October 24, 2024
James “Jim” Harder (81) of Kelowna, BC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 24, 2024.
Jim was born on June 3, 1943, to Dietrich and Katharina Harder in Steinbach, Manitoba and moved to Vancouver at age 19. Jim started and ran several of his own businesses in construction and land development.
In Vancouver, BC, Jim met his wife Martha, and they were married on October 9, 1967, in Abbotsford, BC.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Martha; his children, Leanne (Phil) and Brad (Michele); 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings Peter (Olga), Jerry (Hilda), Evelyn, and Mary (Tom). He was predeceased by his brother Edwin (Nettie).
Jim was a caring husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed camping, fishing, playing guitar, and coffee meetings with Webster and all his other friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Central Okanagan Hospice House for their care and kindness. His family would also like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who took such good care of him. He will be missed by many.
Celebration of Life will be held in spring.
