We Remember

HARDY, Kenneth John
January 24, 1936 — February 20, 2025
Ken was born in Kelowna on January 24, 1936 in the Kelowna General Hospital, and passed away peacefully in the same hospital on February 20, 2025.
He was predeceased by his wife, Maryann of 59 years in 2015, his sister Shirley, brother Norm, daughter-in-law Carolyn and Grandson Jamieson.
He is survived by his sister Noreen Koch; 7 children: Carol, Don (Michelle), Jean (Bill), Glen (Jane), Clifford (Catherine), Keith, Lorraine (Peter); 17 grandchildren: Brant (Darlisa), Craig, Pat, Cody (Julie), Jaclynn (Blake), Alexander, Nicholas (Kim), Charlotte, Jessica, Brian (Danielle), Thomas, Elizabeth, Kelsey, Nathan, Shayla (Taylor), Colton, Kaden; and 6 great-grandchildren: Carter, Ethan, Stephen, Aurora, Colter and Sutton. Ken married Judy Jamieson in 2018 which introduced her 2 daughters and more extended family.
Ken was well known as a logging contractor in the Okanagan for over 60 years, but his heart was always in farming. He started as a dairy farmer in Winfield, but quickly transitioned to a fruit farmer in South Kelowna until his final days.
Ken loved fishing, travelling and square dancing. But more than anything, Ken adored his family and loved feeding watermelon to his many grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kelowna General Hospital for their care.
