We Remember
HEATHERINGTON, Gordon
November 26, 1955 — August 26, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Gordon Heatherington, who passed away on August 26, 2023, at the age of 67, after a brave and courageous battle with an aggressive cancer.
Gordon was born in the rural municipality of Daly, Manitoba, during a Manitoba snowstorm, on November 26, 1955, to Joan and Clifford Heatherington.
He is survived by his two children, Mackenzie and Cameron; and their Mom, Sandra Heatherington; sister Laura Bushek; niece Amy (Jay) Bushek; nephew Adam Bushek; great nephews Colton, Carter, and Alexander; many extended family members, and many friends. He has touched the hearts of many.
Gordon had many animal hobbies thru the years from saltwater fish aquariums, frogs, and lizards, to cats and dogs. However, his real enduring passion was with his motorcycles and the many journeys, from Manitoba, to BC, to AB, to Wisconsin, and across the USA to the south in the Florida Keys, and way up north to the Yukon. Many stories of the roads well-traveled. He was always looking for a new great ride and always looking for adventure.
Always excelling in all things electronic, Gordon enrolled with the Canadian Armed Forces after graduating from high school and was stationed in Egypt as a radio technician. After four years of dedicated service to his country, Gordon made many career choices for himself, including being a lumberjack in BC. His final career choice was the technology service sector.
A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of Cottonwood Care Centre and Kelowna General Hospital for their compassion and great care.
In honour of Gordon, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
As Gordy would always say …..“Yep it’s all good…its’ a great day.”

When I heard Gordy died, a couple of days ago , it brought back a flood of memories. So I kn0w when we were in High School at La Crosse Central we had several adventures, from going to San Jose, Cal. to climbing the bluffs. That trip to the West Coast was when we were runaways our Sophomore year, I think. When we left that morning we had no idea where we were going. We were going to go see Fred up north or out west, or whatever. We had a Journal that we kept track of where we were, etc. We caused a lot of commotion and a lot of things got turned around and upside down . I know I lost track of where Gordon was , how he was, etc., and I wish I had not. I know there are several people that wanted to have some communication with him. We were friends once, and I did miss him. I am sorry for your loss, and pray that the Lord will send His Angels to comfort you.
