We Remember
HEWITT, Cash Ryan Jr.
January 9, 2006 — August 6, 2023
Cash Hewitt Jr. passed away suddenly on August 6, 2023.
Left to mourn his loss are his parents: Stacie Gilbeau, Cash Sr. (Connie) Hewitt and Graham O’Leary; sisters Jessa Hewitt, Sarah Hewitt, and Kayla Munro; grandparents Shelley Lyon, Harold “Tex” Hewitt, and Kim Hamilton; uncles and aunts Thomas (Rebecca) Gilbeau, Tyler (Juli) Gilbeau, and Sherry Hewitt; great aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and friends; and best friend since birth Paige Melnick.
Cash was born in Kelowna on January 9th, 2006. At the age of 5, he moved to Glenrosa and became the quirky guy that everyone knew and loved. Glenrosa Elementary and Middle School are the places he made friends and became part of the community family.
Cash was starting to find his way in life. In previous years he had raised money for the Gospel Mission and most recently was to start a new job for the Boys & Girls Club. Cash would have been going into his grade 12 year, and had ambitions to try the automotive program, and the gateway program to see where his life would take him. However, neither of those things would have been possible if it wasn’t for the staff at Westside Learning Centre, and specifically “Ms. T”.
Cash was fiercely loyal, and an empath at best. Cash’s quick wit came from his Dad, and his strive to tease from his Stepdad. He definitely had people in stitches wherever he went. However, his friends and family were the most important thing to him. He never missed a beat and would tell his Mom and Sister he loved them at the end of every phone call or closing of a door, and didn’t care who heard him.

I watched the beautiful celebration of life that you held for Cash Jr. and was truly touched by what a fine young man he had become. I remember “Cash Man” from preschool as a smiling and happy little boy with a very gentle and kind heart. My heart aches for your loss and I pray that you will find peace in the wonderful memories that you made together. Sending hugs….Teacher Bev ❤️
Dear Stacie and family,
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I am deeply sorry as I was not able to attend yesterday for reasons beyond my control but I was able to view the stream and it looked to be like a beautiful service. I cannot fathom what you are going through and Cash was one of the sweetest boys that I’m blessed to get a chance to have known. He will be so dearly missed and if there’s anything you need, please don’t hesitate to reach out. With all my love, Tam Wong.
