We Remember

HUBBARD, Loretta Lou “Rusty”

January 15, 1966 — January 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Loretta “Rusty” Lou Hubbard on January 29, 2025. Rusty was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, creativity, and love for life touched everyone who knew her.

Rusty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lyndon, who passed in 2019. She leaves behind her daughter, Danielle Hubbard (Jason Conroy); her mother, Iris Lepine; grandchildren, Layne, Arya, and Grey; siblings, Dana (Grace) Lepine, Linda Wilson, Willie Lepine, Gloria Lepine (Jean Lozeron), Bobby Lepine, and Danny Lepine, as well as countless other cherished family members.

Rusty was a constant and unwavering presence in the lives of those she loved. She was a mother figure to many, an auntie to most, and a friend to all. At the age of 59, she was fully embracing life, taking it on as it came with an open heart and an unyielding love for those around her. Rusty loved deeply and without reservation, accepting people for who they were and loving them for it. Whether sharing moments of joy or offering support through profound loss, she always made time to listen, comfort, and understand.

Her grandchildren, were her pride and joy. Rusty devoted much of her time to being actively involved in their lives, offering guidance, affection, and unwavering support. She was known as a favourite auntie, a confidante, and a safe place for many to share both their triumphs and their struggles. She was always ready to offer her advice, kindness, and a hug when needed most.

Rusty had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She found joy in driving through scenic landscapes, taking in the beauty around her. Gardening, a passion she shared with Lyndon, was one of her greatest loves. Her green thumb and love of flowers brought life and colour to everything she touched. An artistic soul, Rusty enjoyed painting, crafting pottery, and expressing herself in unique ways. Her vibrant personality was reflected in her many tattoos, including two dragonflies she had recently added. She was known for her bold, distinctive style and ever-changing, statement-making hair, always staying true to herself.

Though she faced unimaginable loss of lifelong love, Rusty prevailed. She found solace and strength in the relationships she built and in the friendships that blossomed around her. Her generosity, creativity, and compassion will be remembered forever. Rusty was quick to forgive and move on, always understanding the humanness in us all and the importance of living life to the fullest every day. She will be remembered as someone who taught us all how to love deeply, forgive easily, and cherish every moment.

Her lessons of love, selflessness, and individuality will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

“I love you, I love you the most, no, I love you the mostest, I love you the toastest.”
