HUGHES, Vicki Marian
April 19, 1951 — November 27, 2021
Our beautiful wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, sister and friend is home. Although the grief we feel is unlike any other, we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary and what is unseen is eternal. Vicki is dancing with Jesus and is finally free. Over the past 9 years, bound by a disease so ugly and debilitating, she still managed to bless the lives around her daily. Her heart never changed. Her goodness still so sweet. Her beauty timeless. Her faith constant. It is well with her soul.
Until we meet again, Vicki will be lovingly remembered by the love of her life and husband of 27 years, Joe Hughes; her loving children Kim and Chris Fenske, Joel and Cathy Miller, Aaron Miller; her grandchildren, and pride and joy, Easton, Olive and Raine Fenske, Lyla and Brody Miller; Vicki’s cherished bonus family: children Linda (Cole) Lagrand, Ann (Dave) Ferguson, Tony (Tracy) Hughes; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister Dana Dynna; brother-in-law Terry (Shaunie) Brown; brother Greg (Marie) Dukart; numerous nieces and nephews. Vicki has been joyfully reunited with her parents Joe and Joyce Dukart, sister Judy Brown, brother-in-law Gil Dynna and her beloved pups Mitsy, Kiesha and Sophie.
A special thank you to Vicki’s family at the Good Samaritan Mountainview Village for the kindness, love and care they selflessly gave in the past 4 years.
“To love a person is to learn the song in their heart, and sing it to them when they have forgotten” – Arne Garborg
