We Remember

JACOBSEN, Christopher Shayne

December 6, 1959 — May 29, 2024

In Loving Memory,

Christopher Shayne Jacobsen “Shayne” passed away on May 29, 2024, in Kelowna, BC.

Shayne lives on through sister Rhonda Jacobsen-Lebedoff (Matthew); and children Joey Lutz, Brandon Jacobsen, and Shalynn Jacobsen. He was predeceased by his mother Muriel Jacobsen (née Wilson) and father Ronald Jacobsen.

Shayne was born into a loving family on December 6, 1959, in Prince George, BC. In 1971, Shayne and his family moved to Kelowna to pursue the automotive industry. Shayne had a love for fast cars, classic rock, and hot rods. The bigger the engine and the faster the vehicle, the larger Shayne’s smile.

Shayne worked alongside his father and brother-in-law at the family business, Jacobsen Pontiac Buick GMC Cadillac, until his retirement in 2013.

Shayne was a lifelong member of the Kelowna Golf and Country Club, where he spent many days working on his long-shot with close friends. An avid boater, on the weekends you could find him entertaining the kids, and linking up with friends new and old. Shayne also loved skiing — while the children were growing up, you could find him at Big White all weekend long.

Shayne was smart, strong, stubborn, complicated, and funny. He will be dearly missed by many.

The family will be having a private service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Okanagan College Automotive Department.
