KING, Brian
—
After a brave and heroic struggle with illness, Brian passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the Central Okanagan Hospice in Kelowna, BC. His mother, Blanche and father, Alex, predeceased him.
Brian had the comfort of the presence of his sister, Linda Savage of Paris, Ontario, as well as his younger brother, Michael (Mike) and Mike’s wife, Rose at his bedside both in Kelowna General Hospital and the Central Okanagan Hospice, during the last few weeks of his life.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Lisa and his two granddaughters, Haley and Sommer; son Brian Jr.; elder sister, Barbara (Bruce); Michael (Rose); Linda (Bob); Brenda (Norm) and John. Brian treasured his cousin, Shirley Watson, also of Ayre, Ontario and spent many hours on the phone with her and during his trips back to Ontario.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 17th at 10:30 am at Evangel Church, 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC, with Pastor Don Richmond officiating. A reception for fellowship and sharing memories of Brian will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Central Okanagan (Ozanam House), Box 22114, Capri Post Office, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 9N9. Brian resided at Ozanam House for two years when he first came to Kelowna in 2007.
The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Dr. Paul Hart, Nancy Wells and the staff and volunteers of Kelowna Hospital Auxiliary, also to Reg and Marleen Humphries for their many kindnesses.
Brian’s cremated remains will be interred in the family plot in Ayre, Ontario at a later date.

It’s hard to put into words how I am feeling , but I know that you know how much I loved you, and how very proud I was of you. I miss you already and will miss your texts phone calls and emails – always checking in to make sure I was ok.
