Knutton, Josephine (Jo) Margaret
September 2, 1920 — December 7, 2011
Josephine (Jo) Margaret Knutton of Kelowna, beloved wife of the late James Knutton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec 7, 2011 at the age of 91 years.
Jo was born in New Westminster British Columbia on Sept 2, 1920. Jo lived in Burnaby B.C. all her school years. She met and married the love of her life Jim Knutton in Brackendale B.C. on July 6th 1946. Jim worked for the PGE and they moved to Quesnel, Fort St. John and back to North Vancouver. They retired in Greenwood and then on to Armstrong. After Jim’s passing in I993 Jo remained in Armstrong until moving to Kelowna in 2005.
Jo is survived by her son, Colin (Iris) Campbell of Kelowna from her first marriage to Stuart Wm Campbell, daughters Kathy (Jim) Howie of Quesnel and Ginny (Doug) Young of Blairmore, Alberta, grandchildren Stephen (Jackie) Campbell of North Mankato, MN and their sons Matthew and Nicholas; Shelley (Brian) Hart of Denver, CO and their children Campbell and Lauren; Jason Howie of Yellowknife NWT; Jennifer Howie (Kip) of Yellowknife NWT; Trina (Travis) Merritt of Blairmore, AB and their children Meghan and Matthew; Kim (Dermot) O’Boyle of Vancouver, B.C. and their children Shae and Maeve. Jo is also survived by her sister, Pat Thomas of Lantzville, B.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her loving husband Jim, Jo is predeceased by three brothers Thomas, Jack and Bud Emery, and sister Ruth Downey; sisters-in-law Phyllis and Audrey Knutton and niece Nancy Schwabe.
At Jo’s request there will be a celebration of her life in the summer of 2012.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House at 2035 Ethel Street, Kelowna BC, V1Y 2Z6.
